Oregon State is now 30-6, the second best 36-game start in program history behind 2017's 33-3 start. In order to match the 2017 season, Oregon State must win 26 consecutive games. At this point, the Beavers would need to win every game, including the first two games at the College World Series. In order to surpass the 2017 season, Oregon State would need to win 27 games, every game up until the National Championship Series. The previous second-best 36-game start was shared by the 2005, 2011, and 2013 teams. The 2005 team started 31-7. The best regular season record is 2005's 41-9 record. Oregon State would need to go 12-2 over the next 14 to surpass that. The best 55-game regular season record is 2013's 45-10 record. Oregon State would need to go 16-3 over the final 19 to surpass that record.
Best 36-game starts in program history:
33-3 2017 (lost in College World Series Semifinal to LSU) 30-6 2018 (?) 29-7 2005 (0-2 in College World Series), 2011 (lost Nashville Super Regional), and 2013 (lost in College World Series Semifinal to Mississippi State) 28-8 2007 (National Champions) and 2014 (lost Corvallis Regional Championship Game) 27-9 1986 (Oregon State finished third in the six-team Stillwater Regional), 1987 (went 0-2 in the North Tournament), and 2006 (National Champions)
Boyds World is saying that Oregon State will be a top 8 team in RPI, if they go 15-4 (or better) down the stretch. That would put the Beavers at 45-10, tied for the second-best 55-game start in program history with the 2005 and 2013 teams. Hopefully, the Beavers can hit that mark.

You had to mention that Mississippi State thing - Danny Hayes hitting the ball on the screws into a 30 mph wind and it falls a foot short of being the winning home run.......now I feel like heading next door to the liquor store for some Jager I feel that pain... thought for sure it was out. He nailed it. it goes out..... who knows ?

Last year really spoiled us. That was an insanely great year. Seems like we may be back on beam now. 6 in a row (even though we maybe shoulda lost 2 to Reno .... we didn’t). If Bryce and Grant can pitch like last week. Consistently. I like our chances rest of year. Plus Nick.... we have some firepower throughout lineup. Let’s play and see.

That was one time. SaveSave
