I know some of you out there will disagree with me but I'm starting to like Horton. I mean it's nice to have the lesser of the state's major? team's head coach be unable to recruit decent hitting and a lack of depth at pitching. (Semi) seriously, you think that a coach with a world series title under his belt would be able to do better even if he is trying to recruit to a northern school with a lousy climate.
His team also seems to find a way to lose to the Beavs fairly regularly, which is a big positive in my book. I don't know if this is a corollary but he's also become a bit more complimentary of the Beavers over the last several years.

The interview lacked the typical tone of "we're better than everybody else, regardless of the actual results" alternative reality that often oozes out of their programs. I expect he'll be fired soon for not confirming to protocol.

Horton is a good coach, and the remaining games will be a big challenge for the Beavers. He is also under contract through the 2020 season. Ducker baseball has already bled enough money that I don't see a buyout coming. Just say no to Checketts. With ducker resources, Checketts could push the duckers upwards.

With ucks b'ucks, I could turn them around, and down and around and down and around, all the way to the Willamette River, after proper treatment of course. Go Beavs!
