Anyone think this might be an interesting presentation for OSU home matches?

I'm not pushing for it but it might be worth a try. Couldn't hurt.

Yeah - that's pretty much what all the local high schools do and my son's JC team - and pretty much everyone else!

Would be great if Ath Dept would spend about 5-10 minutes on "game day" atmosphere/marketing/general drumming up of support.

This will probably be the norm with the monster score/video board being installed in Gill. If that thing is on cables and pully system, they can lower it and light the center mat. The school down the road used to do their dual meets that way until they axed the sport in favor of less expensive baseball.

We'll see, It may have to grow on me.

There was discussion on the Joe Beaver show about the antiquated lighting in Gill that took 45 minutes to totally warm up after being turned off - part of the upgrades they are doing is replacing that with new lighting that should allow for them to do things like what is pictured above.
