Let's remember that D. Bruce announced his transfer in mid to late April that year. Not sure if at that time WT also knew that Duvivier wasn't going to play in the 2016-17 season. And WT had already signed a point guard for that class (yeah, I know that didn't work out to well), so I doubt very much he was recruiting any other PGs for that season. Yes, would have been nice to find a better player than Stacy, but he had to hustle to find someone at a position that all of a sudden become a need. Agree, and Stacy did get a bit better, in all fairness. And no one can dispute that he was exerting himself out there. The real issue is NOW - we have known for some (fairly large) number of months that PG is a concern...... Let's hope WT is not headed for another "late season, necessity driven, shot in the dark, hope for the best" pickup with Banks and he has a larger portfolio of candidates. Coach WT actually is starting to vaguely feel like our ex-football coach CGA sometimes.......they say all the right things, seem to even be fairly knowledgeable coaches, obviously care about their kids, but somehow it doesn't translate into on-field success. Either the coaching isn't sticking, or players aren't feeling like they are being put in positions to succeed and are tuning out, or.....leaving. There also seems to be a bit of playing favorites going on with various players and the "leash" they have (or didn't have, in the case of CGA). Or some talent evaluation shortfalls. I am not happy that I am finding resonance between these two coaches, because I really want WT to succeed and MBB to be a thing for me again, but at the end of the day I just thank the stars WBB is more than "scratching the itch" by way of hoops right now. If that is the case for too many Beaver fans, however, then it becomes an AD/financial conversation...... Go Beavers! My sentiments exactly! Very well said!

I guess if you are saying giving phony lip service to all issues is saying all the right things then GA was saying all the right things, but Tinkle has always come across as genuine to me as and never has made me feel like he's blowing smoke. I consider them polar opposites in the genuine category. Tinkle hasn't had tons of success yet, but he came into a program that was in MUCH worse shape than what GA inherited.
