Apparently George is a bit concerned he hasn't received any sort of contract extension as he begins his final year. George briefly listed his resume on his PAC (12-1) results and the number of UO NCAA appearances. To be fair, he has done a good job from beginning with nothing to the present.
And to be really fair, in the next show (I don't listen to these shows all day, only while driving) but during the next show they replayed the Mike Parker call of Pat Casey being kicked out of a game on the hit batsman on the attempted bunt. I wish I could remember who was at the plate, but listening to MP throw down his headphones and microphone and stand up and just start screaming "TERRIBLE CALL! TERRIBLE CALL!, THAT WAS A TERRIBLE CALL! HE HADN'T EVEN SQUARED TO BUNT, HE WAS JUST TURNING AND GETS HIT AND YOU CALL HIM OUT? TERRIBLE CALL!!!! was about the most entertaining thing I have heard on the radio in quite awhile.
The point is, College Baseball starts this week.

That's the thing about wHorton. He talks up his team so much preseason. Then you get a few injuries or bad breaks
bad break = being swept by Da Beavs or you decide to send to test Conforto's arm
All of a sudden the fan base quits coming to the park. Chronic under achiever

Who's Horton?
George's wife hates Western Oregon weather, so I'm sure she'd be happy to return to SoCal.

I remembered both plays. I feel for old George. So close and yet so far away. He should go back to Southern California. Maybe thy should drop Baseball and bring back Wrestling.

They are not paying him $500k/yr just to make the NCAA post season. He was hired to win Pac-12 championships, fill their ballpark and surpass OSU's dominance in-state.
He hasn't delivered.

Maybe he got a Riley "participation" contract?

Nah... Remember he said no extension. Otherwise he'd have extra years for each post season appearance automatically rolling over!! LOL... now that is an entire thread in and of itself. Or was it already??? Several times?

So Whoreton is guaranteed $50,000 as an attendance bonus, BUT it increases by $10,000 each year, meaning he is guaranteed $80,000 this year. So...that means the money from the first 300 or so season tickets sold go to George. I don't know how many season ticket holders they have, but if it's around 1,200 to 1,500 then that could be 20-25% of your season ticket revenue wasted on a guy that can't generate much interest to watch his team play.
