I love how Marie is rated to go before both Tennessee bigs from Oregon. They went to Tennessee rated much higher than Marie and stayed that way until this year. Just goes to show what Rueck and his staff, and I mean the whole staff from associate coach to trainers to the strength and conditioning coach. Jeff Macy deserves credit for what he has done, our girls were able to keep up a pace that made their opponents wilt under their constant pressure. KtMac and Marie played most of not all of each game and TC came on strong towards the end of the season.

I also came across this site: lynx.wnba.com/draft-central/that has a set of top Draft prospects, and includes Marie..... I am not sure what filter was applied to identify the 17 prospects highlighted on this site, but it is a good sign (and I hope it leads to Marie getting invited to the event and being featured on TV and what not a'la Sydney). Can't hurt our recruitment of the post players we are in the conversation for (Taylor Jones, Kennedy Brown). Go Beavers!

And here is some more commentary on Marie's draft prospects as a "Hidden Gem": bleacherreport.com/articles/2768715-2018-wnba-mock-draft-analyzing-elite-prospects-and-hidden-gemsOregon State center Marie Gulich boosted her draft stock throughout the NCAA women's basketball tournament, as she helped the Beavers reach the Elite Eight. In the second-round upset of Tennessee at Thompson-Boling Arena, Gulich recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The German-born center thrived even more in the Sweet 16, as she dominated Baylor in a 26-point performance that set up an Elite Eight showdown with Louisville. Gulich averaged close to a double-double in her senior season, with 17.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Thanks to her output this season, Gulich is an intriguing prospect late in the first round for a team like the Phoenix Mercury. While the pick may not make sense to some given Brittney Griner's presence on the Mercury roster, drafting Gulich gives the Western Conference side two powerful paint presences capable of switching out with one another to wreak havoc on opposing defenses. Go Beavers!

The PAC-12 Conference media put out the one-minute Marie Gulich video accessible below. Worth watching as a reminder of really how good the 6'5" senior was for the Beavs during '17-'18.
