Home runs the last few years have been beaver killers. Proud of our girls though cuz they played the dopes tough. Taking the #5 team in the nation into extras in a rubber match shows you can compete. Looking at the game tracker, it did appear the better team did win. Lot's of hits by that other team, but not pushing any runners across in the first 7 frames. Not much offense for the Beavs aside from the solo home run. Big improvement from the days of getting run ruled in the not too distant past. Got the pitching, now recruit the hitting.

Watched this series on TV. Pac-12 umpiring is bad. At least 5-6 missed calls on close plays at first base over the weekend, impacting both teams. They blew almost every bang-bang play. Today there were two terrible calls at first, one right before an OSU HR that negated a baserunner who beat the throw by almost a full step. TV analyst, a former UW All-American/Olympian, was ripping the umps for terrible strike zones in at least two games.
Batter who hit grand slam in the 8th was out two pitches before. She hit a ground ball to third baseman, she catches the ball, steps back a step or two to tag the bag for the inning-ending force but home plate ump calls it a foul ball. Replay shot with right down the baseline angle shows the ball is directly over the baseline. That's a fair ball.
Beavers don't hit much, and would have struggled to win the longer the game went on because oregon is a better team. But they should have gotten the chance.
