Gut check time...no biggie. They’ll get there. Better to get it out of their system now, no? Go Beavs

What a miserable performance this weekend. The run production would have meant three blowout wins last season for us, but the pitching and defense? Ouch!

20-4 is a deathblow? Really? Long season. Plenty of time for pitching to improve. I don't care about 21-4 and don't think Casey or the team does either. The deathblow is whether the team can rebound from one of the worst performances by virtually everyone over the last 4 games going forward....it's not just pitching, although that's a part of it. To me, not making Omaha is a failure this year and that's the deathblow I'm talking about it. If you have lower standards THIS year, then shame on you.

This team is not going to Omaha. Not a deathblow, though.

We'll agree to disagree because no Omaha = deathblow to me (this year at least)

Playing like they did at Utah, they won't be playing in June.

I get that, which is why I'm including "THIS YEAR" in all my comments...with Madrigal, Grenier, Helmlich, Larnarch all here this year along with all the others, that was my minimum expectation. It will likely change very much next year.

It will likely change very much next year. Believe me you're fine. Disagreeing with "smalls" is a good thing. Read thru some of his posts and you'll get my (and other's) drift. He (?assumption... as some of his arguments are familiar you male and female bickering) rarely adds any info, just comments on others opinions/beliefs. Back to your point. We've had some "down" years in terms of overall talent. And, most observers expected pitching to show improvements. However, I'm hard pressed to think of a squad in the last 12-15 years without at least two top flight/reliable starters. Not sure even Luke is a guarantee vs Furd, Ucla, etc.

hope this w.e. will be the equivalent to the WBB 'lost weekend' in LA.
btw, UCLA just 3 outs away at moment from dropping series to Cal, in Berkeley (Cal scores 6 in B8).
