So nice to have a shut down closer, wouldn't want to give that up unless we really had no other option.

So nice to have a shut down closer, wouldn't want to give that up unless we really had no other option. Agreed. Plus no idea how deep he can go & we'd basically lose him for the entire series. My prediction is Chamberlain with Tweedt/Britton on standby if he has a short outing, if he gives us 5 or 6 then we can turn it over to the usual suspects (Eisert/Pearce/Jake). |

I know he started both years at SWOCC, but at least this season, he has pitched 9.2 innings in 8 games, so we aren't extending him, that's for sure. The other reservation I'd have with Pearce starting at the moment is we're already short-handed from the right side in the pen with Verburg out. Leaves us with just Tweedt/Abel and gives Nate MatchUpSkie with fewer options to work with late in games. |
