I liked the physical D that ND applied, especially in the 2nd half on Ruthy and the All American. Both pretty much wilted, with SI shooting only 1 for 10 at one point. I have been saying it all year that Ionescu needs to feel some physical pressure to slow her down.
Maybe ND showed the formula tonight for future opponents.

That might be the only time in the last 45 years I have cheered for Notre Dame. I hope I don't ever have to do it again, but if the play the dorks, I will. It looks as if Campbell does much of the bench coaching during timeouts. Strange. Oregon can't play a lick of defense. ND missed about 15 shots from point-blank range, or it would have been much worse. *uck coaches look like AAU coaches wearing those polo shirts on the sidelines. Graves has a pretty sizable gut; he’d look better in a suit coat.

I think it's great having an Oregon rivalry. Why all of the U of O hate, I preferred it when Oregon was known as the gracious state. You know, "thank you for visiting" etc 8 )

But I would root for any other team on the planet if they were playing the dorks. In my mind, that is good for Oregonians, good for the state, good for the Pac-12, good for West coast sports, good for us, good for our rivalry, good for my neighbors, good for my uo alum friends, etc. etc. I don't care if an 'ucks win would send us to the national championship in some sport - I would be thinking "shame on us for needing them to get a win". And yes, I have uo alum friends that say "that is really petty, we root for you all the time...." Go Beavers!

I truly do have (a few) uo alum friends who root for the Beavers when we're not playing uo. Far too civilized for my tastes, they even come to games at Reser if they can make it. Granted some are less sanguine about their rooting preferences in all Beaver sports. What do your friends do, gnawitall?

You guys must be a buncha transplanted Californi's. New? How many generations has your family lived here? And no, I'm not NA.
New Yorker friends used to come and visit and complain about how nice everyone was to them. Not so much these days (sigh). Northern California indeed.

I have a friend who is a recently retired OSU prof. Born in Canada, got his PhD there, taught in a few places, eventually made his way to OSU. Generally a very liberal person, wears an earring, calls himself Bhuddist . . . pretty much as mild a person as you could imagine. Profs usually aren't all that hard-core anyway - it's just their employer, after all.
He told me a couple years ago that he had to go down to Eugene for a conference of some sort. "And the moment I stepped foot on that campus, I just got this feeling of revulsion and I realized just how much I HATE that damn school."
It was a bonding moment for the two of us . . .

The Notre Dame team that the Beavers lost to by 5 on November 19 also had a healthy Lili Thompson and 6'3" Mikayla Vaughan in the line-up in Corvallis. The Beavers led by 8 points at the half and by 11 early in the second half in that game before Notre Dame rallied for the win. Both Vaughan and Thompson were among Notre Dame's top eight players in their rotation on November 19. I believe that Thompson may have started for ND in that game in Corvallis.
Both Thompson and Vaughan subsequently tore ACLs and have been lost for the remainder of the season. The ND team that the Ducks lost to by 10 points played a total of six players last night. The one sub (Nelson) that was used by Notre Dame played 11 minutes in the game and scored four points.
It has taken an admirable coaching job by Mugget McGraw to lead her squad to the Final Four after two players went down with ACL injuries prior to the season began and two more did so after their third game of the season.
