From MLB.com:
Jacoby out with a right oblique strain for the entire month, won't be ready for opening day. He has played in just four games and is 1-10, not exactly the showcasing the Yankees need to trade him and dump his salary. No surprise. He just can't stay healthy.
Michael Conforto took four at-bats in the Mets' minor league camp on Friday, his first live swings since sustaining the injury while swinging at a pitch last fall. Conforto went 0-for-2 with a fielder's choice and a walk in a Minor League game. Conforto has been out of game action all spring, but he has been taking part in baseball activities. He's expected to remain in extended spring camp and continue recovering. His return date has been speculated to be May 1.
Sam Gaviglio was DFAed by KC. He had a bad spring, with a 10-plus ERA.

The Yankees will not be able to dump his salary if they traded him. The only way to trade him would be to pay a big chunk of his yearly salary to the other team. That won't happen and like you said he can't stay healthly anyway.

Injury looking for a place to happen, in 11 years, he has played in +130 games six times. Stats are going down the elevator shaft. But, he had that great career year. "Damn near triple crown. Put the Red Sox on his back and his teammates stepped all over their johnsons and cost him the MVP.

Put the Red Sox on his back and his teammates stepped all over their johnsons and cost him the MVP. The right moments can be brief. That year of the Red Sox collapse was his moment. IIRC the clubhouse was a mess. I "think" they were all pissed at Tito Francona. Instead of team leaders or Mgt stepping up to defend the manager they left Francona to twist in the wind. Now the Red Sox & Yankees will forget about Jacoby. But Jacoby can always come home. We don't forget Ells

Jacoby is playing today vs. the Twins on MLB Network. Must not be hurt as bad as announced.

Jacoby is playing today vs. the Twins on MLB Network. Must not be hurt as bad as announced. Or the Yankees are playing him through the pain like the Red Sox did. IIRC that was a shoulder that was partially dislocated or something. Jacoby had been complaining about it. The seriousness did not come to light until the off season. Sometimes even the stars can be a "piece of meat" best case they are showcasing him foe a trade

Here's to being fully healed - if he is really ready, let's get him out there!
