I caught some flak when I said after they announced the tournament brackets that I liked the bracket we started out in. I know it was against the Lady Vols, a team that had never lost on their court before in the tournament, and we had gotten a bogus seed because we definitely deserve to be ranked higher than 6th. But I also knew that we needed to beat a team like Tennessee on their court to both gain the confidence we needed to get into the Sweet 16 and beyond, and put a little bit of the fear into the teams that we're going to play moving forward.
I really like the fact that the Baylor fans sound a little leery about playing us, though I know the Baylor team is going to be out for blood because of what we did two years ago. But I also know that we can do again what we did two years ago and at least get into the Elite 8. Go Beavs!

The players who took the bulk of OSU's FTs shot 81% (Tudor), and 76% (Gulich, Pivek) from the line this season. Making those free throws was not luck. They demonstrated that ability all year.

Tennessee was luckily NOT hitting shots they normally would and OSU was luckily making NEARLY ALL their FTs. The "home crowd" was pretty much taken out of the game. That was huge.
If OSU manages to prevail over Baylor they then face Louisville, IN Kentucky. I'd much rather be next facing (for example) Notre Lame than Baylor.
Was it just “luck” Tennessee shot poorly? I thought it might have something to with the Beaver defense.🙂

Yes, we won by luck {{{cookooo}}} We won because we were the better team.

Yes, we won by luck {{{cookooo}}} We won because we were the better team. THAT DAY we were. That's kinda what really matters in loser-out tournaments.

That's kinda what really matters in loser-out tournaments. Yes it is. And fortunately we were ... on that day and in that place. Once the momentum turned, it never really shifted back the other way. That made the home court advantage a whole lot less of a overall factor. Again, not saying "oh, we just got lucky." I'm saying I didn't (and still don't) like the overall path in THAT bracket, against THOSE teams, in THOSE places. Announced attendance of 4,338 surprised me. Thompson-Bolling seats 21,678 so 4K, while a decent crowd, might not seem all that intimidating with 17,000 empty seats and OSU's band blasting the fight song in heavy rotation.

I for one feel that the Bracket that Oregon St is in is the hardest Bracket in the tournament. Baylor should have been a one seed in fact they are probably the second best team after Uconn. And Tenn can be very tough at home.

Seattle.....Minnesota....Central Michigan...and probably/possibly Notre Dame, the weakest of the number 1 seeds due to multiple injured players.....are you kidding me?
I hope Texas gets through and beats Notre Dame, as I think they would give the $mucks more problems than Notre Dame.

I am skeptical Central Michigan will be able to beat the 'ucks, but one can always hope....they have made it this far..... The 'ucks sadly put themselves in this situation by hosting and favorable upsets. Let's see if A&M or Notre Dame can take them out. I suspect we might all be rooting for UConn to have another 140 point game soon though, much as I have developed a dislike for Geno.
Go Beavers!

We host... 10 beats 7... 6 beats the 3... we play DePaul instead of Louisville to get to Dallas. The 2 beats the 1... OSU faces UConn. Ucks won't face the 1 in basically a home game, but will face UConn if they win... weird. And hoping it doesn't repeat!
