Anyone hear an estimate of home run distance from #35 homer Saturday?
The ball hit high on the scoreboard above the 365' in left/center. It is likely the longest ball I have seen hit, a true BOMB!!

Sounds like a good math problem if you know the height of the scoreboard.

Still doesn't match the ball that Jacoby hit at Goss that made it almost to the railroad tracks in 2005, or the shot the Georgia lead off hitter smacked that flew out of Portland's Civic Stadium and off the wall of the Boregonian building when we played them there in 2006 (2007?). Those two pokes were jaw dropping. I think both those gentlemen were first round draft picks and are still playing in the majors

I think the BBCore bats have changed the distance of some balls being launched. Conforto hit one against the ducks in their house that was a legit mammo shot.

Rumor that BJW bounced one off the heating plant one time

They scheduled an exhibition game at old Civic Stadium but it was rained out. They improvised and held an impromptu home run hitting contest. And they had the great idea to use some of Portland State's metal bats. Willie Stargell hit one (in the rain) into the MAC club observation deck.

Xavier Nady of Cal jacked one off Mark Newell that almost hit McAlexander on the fly. It's the longest ball I've ever seen hit to left field. A guy from Bellingham hit one over the batter's eye this past summer against the Knights. Only time I've ever seen that done.

The Georgia lead-off hitter for the series was Ryan Peisel, who did not homer, during the series. I believe you are referring to one of Gordon Beckham's two home runs in the rubber match that Oregon State won 5-4. Beckham batted third. His two home runs accounted for three of the four runs for Georgia.
