One (1) definite Pac 12 team and two (2) play in teams from the Pac 12?
Ouch.

and the 2 at large bids were in the last 4 in. If those 2 lose in the play-in games, we will have 1 in the final 64. Ouch is right. Or sad.

USC got screwed. Probably backhanded payback for the violations but if I were an SC fan I’d be pretty upset. Honestly, if a tough athletic team that plays defense like sc isn’t a tournament team, something is rotten with the selection committee. I would take sc over at least 40 of the teams that are in. I realize this was perceived as a down year for the PAC 12, but one team seeded and 2 in play-in games? And if the PAC is so awful how does 8th place ASU with a losing conference record beat Kansas and Xavier on the road? Not good for the west.

USC got screwed. ASU gets in losing 5 of their last 6 games?
USC finished 2nd in the league. I would be pissed if I was a USC Fan.

Arizona swept USC, winning both games by 14 points. Arizona State beat USC in their only game. UCLA swept USC. The Bruins beat the Trojans by 11 at the Galen Center in the final game of the regular season.
Arizona State's non-conference RPI is 9. Arizona's non-conference RPI is 37. UCLA's non-conference RPI is 42. USC's non-conference RPI is 61. The Trojans' went 14-7 against Pac-12 teams but 0-5 against the top three teams. USC's best wins all year were wins over Middle Tennessee State and New Mexico State in Hawai'i.
The Trojans beat teams that they were supposed to beat but lost against everyone with a pulse. Arizona State and UCLA had lower lows but also higher highs.
I can see Arizona State or UCLA being one of the final four in but not both. That is a slap in the face to the Pac-12.

USC finished 2nd in the league and made it to the conference tournament final. ASU finished 9th and got bounced in the first round. End of discussion. Arizona State was undefeated in non-conference play with wins over Big East regular season champion, Xavier, at a neutral site; the Big 12 Champion, Kansas, in Lawrence; Big 12 #4 Kansas State, at a neutral site; and Mountain West Champion, San Diego State. The Devils also played the Big East's St. John's at a neutral site and the SEC's Vanderbilt. USC on the other hand went 9-4, losing by 16 on their home court to seven-seed Texas A&M; losing a road game to SMU by 17, which finished ninth in the American Athletic Conference; and dropping games in Los Angeles to 10-seed Oklahoma and 12-16 Princeton by 10. The Trojans' best wins all season were by five at a neutral site against Middle Tennessee State, a 3-seed in the NIT, and by five at a neutral site against WAC Champion, New Mexico State. USC's path to the Pac-12 Tournament Championship went through the Oregon schools, which the Trojans went a perfect 6-0 against on the season. If Arizona State gets the opportunity to play a Tinkle-less Oregon State and a tired Oregon, the Devils play in the championship, as well. Breaking down Arizona State and USC's Pac-12 resume: Neither team beat #1 Arizona. Arizona State beat #2 USC. USC swept #3 Utah. Arizona State split. Arizona State beat #4 UCLA. USC got swept. Against the top four teams in the Pac-12, Arizona State went 3-3. Against the top four teams in the Pac-12 (and Arizona State), USC went 2-4. The Trojans cleaned up against the dregs of the Pac-12, but the Devils played much better in non-conference to pretty much offset that. Plus, you have the suitcase full of money argument. USC is under investigation by the Federal Government. Arizona State is not. End of discussion.
