How many games did Buchahan get?
Seems like 1 game for every sh!t call would be fair. I was holding my breath on every call at 1B today

By the NCAA? I always thought the Conference was in charge of discipline for on-field stuff.

Lundeberg of the GT updated the Casey suspension info. The NCAA has the mandatory suspension rule in the umpire contact situation rather than the conference.

Ump Buchanan should be suspended as well-- he jawed at/leaned into Casey as much as PC jawed at/leaned into him.
Actually, Buchanan needs to be gone. He obviously doesn't know basic rules of baseball and is particularly thin-skinned. Not a good combo...

I'm wondering if there is an appeal process OSU might pursue. Clearly, they were BOTH in each other's face. There is tape of it. And, if the "enforcers" take a look at the series in-toto they'd allow Case to smack the idiot around a little......I'd like to see that

There is no appeal process. Casey will back for the game next Sunday.

One of the golden rules of baseball is that you can't argue balls and strikes even from the dugout. Once an appeal is decided it is a ball or strike issue. Another golden rule is that you don't touch an ump in any manner. Coach gets tossed and suspended.
Casey still walks on water as far as I am concerned.

CSF coach came out of the dugout to argue a strike call and the ump did not toss him. He should have been gone.

Yeah, the contact is one of those "zero tolerance" rules that really HAS to be there. I realize it was just the bill of the cap to the bill of the cap, but it did happen. Next time Casey will be sure to stand a few inches farther back when arguing.

Or turn his hat around backwards so the bill doesn't stick past his nose. My issue with this situation is two fold... now keep in mind I sit on the 3b side just about even with the bag so I had a front row seat (actually row 4) to this little shenanigan. Marky Mark had rabbit ears after he blew the check swing call. Casey yelled, you have to be kidding me and started walking down the steps of the dugout.... away from the ump. The ump started yelling, pointing and sticking his hand out at Casey to stop... taking steps toward the dugout. That is where this guy showed he is truly bush leageu. He should have walked away or back to his position and let the next 15 seconds just go by/take the crowd and team reaction. Instead he instigated the situation, I believe beggin Pat to come out of the dugout. Pat got tossed about 4 steps out. At that point I don't know what Pat was saying. His back was to me and it was so loud I couldn't hear. That is when Pat lost it. He had been tossed and he was going to get his money's worth. He did bounce the brim of his hat off of Mark's forehead. Mark's reaction told me he finally got what he wanted as he pointed at Casey's hat and screamed you touched me as he walked off. Just chicken crap I tell ya. Pat didn't start off arguing balls and strikes. Like us his human reaction to such a blown call on a full count was utter amazement. Don't forget that Mark's bad call in the 1st was overturned after Pat questioned it and asked the home plate umpire for help. Stands to reason the ump had his Pride Bruised and spent the rest of the weekend looking for retribution. Or he simply isn't the right guy to be a Pac 12 ump... probably both are true. Guy sitting next to me on Sunday said, well I guess Pat should have clocked him.... I'm guessing that suspension might be more than 4 games
