aaahhhh, the Earl Weaver ploy. Nicely played a little spittle helps to enforce your point too Or... just not get baited by an inferior umpire and person. PC allowed him to now "effect" his team long after he leaves Corvallis. The ump was wrong in many ways, but so was PC. As for Mike Parker... he's a terribly overactive "fan" and at times embarrassing as a representative of OSU. If a similar employee of another school acted like MP folks on this board would be all overt them. Whether in the booth or not he is an employee of OSU and has been reprimanded on both his on air and outside comments. I guess you have a lot of experience with this as you often post with no self control, but are quick to point out the lack of self control of others. The irony was not lost on me. I hope you continue to express your opinion as these are just my thoughts. Maybe I am out of control 😀. |

And, actually I did not "point out" either instance... nor would have. My comments are directed at those who think an umpire is the "cause". PC... knows better... I'm pretty familiar with him and still tell you that a 4 game suspension will anger him, but in more ways than just at the umpire. MP is well known for his over the top "fandom". So, in fact my post did not point anything out, other than both men were baited by an inferior professional and are better than that. So, ya... guess you're a bit "out of control" 😁 |

A university employee should be able to control themselves a lot better. A number of announcers are homers but Mike takes it too far at certain times. |

Parker's not a university employee. But they should have hired him as an assistant for the game, suited him up, and let him charge the field from the bench...

1. Mike is not an OSU employee
2. I don't recall MP ever being reprimanded by either BSP/Learfield (his employer), OSU or the Conference for on-air or outside comments. If you can provide a link to either I will stand corrected.

MP represents OSU as an employee of the university no matter who signs his paychecks and gets "perks" as such. Any and all reprimands as far as I know were made privately and a well known fact within the circles of the AD. I do not have the links (nor do I need them, nor do all sets of information have them, and I certainly don't need to 'prove" them to you), but Mike has been very close to being ejected from hoops games. Instances of such were, as far as I know, when he was still drinking heavily. |
