Hey Tigard ... in fairness to Jon, Big Jim didn’t think he pulled his foot off first either.

Hey Tigard ... in fairness to Jon, Big Jim didn’t think he pulled his foot off first either. track record of Jon says wait for BJW to tell ya what happened. Jon has improved a lot. And my momma said if ya can't say anything nice... in Jon's defense he never mentioned the McGrath family press box 147 times

Here live it looked like an out. His foot was on the bag. Awful call, but still not the worst of the night.

Worst performance of the night was the third base umpire taunting the Oregon State dugout after the questionable check swing call that got coach tossed. It's one thing to miss a call, completely something different to intentionally provoke a confrontation.

Say the magic words That was bad, but at least he asked for help from the home plate ump and they go it right. The missed check swing call was egregious. It was Greg Street level bad.

Notice no one is mentioning the Walk that started the whole mess. Or the error. Just blue. Freebies in any sport inevitably bite you in the arse.

It's one thing to miss a call, completely something different to intentionally provoke a confrontation. I completely agree. It is human to make mistakes but the third base ump was looking for an argument. I sit on the third base side. Casey made a general comment after the blown call. If i read his lips correctly it was “you have to be fing kidding me”! He wasnt looking at the ump when he said it but blue started chirping immediately. He was so unprofessional. After Casey was tossed he was talking to the crew chief and 3 base dude was barking at our players. Im sorry but the umps are paid to enforce the rules not look to argue or stir the pot. The dude was either day dreaming or doesn’t understand the game but neither are an excuse for his unprofessional attitude. Casey maybe looking at a suspension for the brim if his hat hitting the umps forehead. The umps reaction to that confirmed to me he baited casey out and was happy he pushed his buttons. I think his pride was still bruised from the fair/foul call. Another example of not knowing the rules. All of it is an embarrassment to professional umpires.

Pretty sure he is suspended for one game, regardless.

Coaching Nightmare! 2 Out 2 Strike Walk? Followed by blown Call. BGods were not happy last night. I know don't bitch, kids and all but 3 Strikeouts from the DH? Runners on? Somebody, somewhere hit the ball even a Foot might help. Just saying. Better have our A Game on today!

I guess it is going to be hoops season all over again... conspiracy of the Pac12 and officials against our Beavs. Effing gets so old. Get over it folks... athletics is full of human error including officials, part of the games! I know fan bitching is also part of the message board "game", but on this board it is every game thread... it is impossible to not read a game thread to have Beaver failures due in all or part to the officials or mistreatment by the Pac12. It's a loser's mentality... PERIOD. The Beavs lost... they lost to a 3-8 team with RPI in the 170's (RPI will improve now) to snap a 22 home game win streak... it's cold/rain or officials/officials attitudes... guess what, you don't let a inferior umpire bait you... with eyes wide open it is easy to see this team is NOT a top 10 team on the mound. Some on here best get used to losing games we should win... and it will not be the umpires.

Some on here best get used to losing games we should win... and it will not be the umpires. I think that having so much back from 56-6 creates an unrealistic expectation that most of will have to fight against this year. That air last year was so rare as to be nearly impossible to replicate. Our pitching isn’t as strong, and we’ll have to play at least another month or so without the offensive and defensive boost of one of the top 5 college players in America. Everything could go right and we won’t touch 56-6...neither will anyone else. It’s a long grind. We’re very good again, and could go on some runs, but last year we had two separate 20+ consecutive win streaks. Umps will make some bad calls, and we’ll no doubt face a few perplexing strike zones along the way. However, one or two bad calls should not tell the story if we execute like we should, and even bad balls and strikes issues just require that we adjust. Good players and teams do that. I’m as mad as the next Beaver fan when a poor call is made, but winners don’t dwell on what they can’t control, they take charge of the things that they can. Success for us won’t only be determined by physical ability. The mental toughness - or lack of it - will be huge. Fortunately, Casey and his staff and kids generally check the boxes in that department.
