It is time Tweedt was on the pine for good. Just doesn't have it. for good? really? Remember Fehmel last year? Lots of arrows in his back but he pulled Rooster Cogburn out of that well didn't he? Just don't give up on these kids. Bench is a place to find some resolve for coming back to help the team when most needed. It's not a place to quit.

Wallowed on the bench for much of the season before coming up HUGE in Omaha a few years back.

I’d like to go back and look at Tweedt’s delivery when he was a promising freshman. It seems that he is really short arming now. (Throwing like a catcher). Sam ..... losses up and let it fly and get some movement on the ball.

Just a couple of observations. Velo appears to be down and the balls are up. It frankly amazing how difficult this level of Baseball has become. But the basics remain. Keep the ball up and the chances are you will be thumped.

Keep the ball up and the chances are you will be thumped. The short arming thing is exactly what I thought in Arizona. Kind of the old"aiming the ball" thing. And the fastball has consistently been up. Maybe a mental thing from the injury. Hope he can reach his freshman level.

Spot on about the short arming and aiming thing. Lengthen out and pitch. Don't throw.

Go back guys... peek at HS and 2015 vids... Sam has always had a short- arm delivery. It's more pronounced on certain pitches... tipping them. Sam is who Sam is... Will be 84-89... decent control... no plus pitches... and fair well vs NC type opponents. Folks will say TJ really effected him... well he was successful in '15 vs inferior competition and typically got great run support.
Right now he's a young pitcher struggling mentally. The worst thing a pitcher can do is start "coaching" himself. The one issue short armers do have is when they tense the short arm position makes it easier to tense the hand.
Right now Sam is over gripping... ball is not flying of the finger tips. His grip tightens the wrist, effects the "snap" of all his pitches. His arm motion is almost identical to where it had been. He is tense and it seems more pronounced for longer in his delivery. Not until he believes in himself will he loosen up.
He prob needs some relief appearances in NC before starting again. Baby steps again...
