Beavers are recruiting JUCO point guard Tyler Cheese, 6'4, 190, out of Florida Southwestern State College in Ft. Myers. He averages 15 ppg, and 5 rpg. and plays for the #3 rated team in NJCAA national top 25. Cheese is rated #52 JUCO player in the country. He is also being recruited by oregon, Xavier, Illinois, DePaul, FGCU, Middle Tennessee State, Mercer and others.

I don't know about the other schools listed in OP, but I follow Illinois recruiting pretty closely and I'd be surprised if they are recruiting this kid. But I'd take him or Torres. I've never seen either of them play, but based on stats Torres seems to be a better shooter -- 51.3% overall and 44.4% from 3-pt versus 45.7% and 32.6% for Cheese. Only thing I'd be a little worried about with Cheese that stats I've found for him have him starting only 17 of 26 games this season and averaging 14.9 mpg. Considering he averages 14.7 ppg, either his team runs an incredibly fast paced offense or he might be a bit more of a shoot first PG. Based upon that and Torres' higher ranking, I'd favor Torres -- but beggars can't be choosers.
Interesting thing I noticed when looking at the stats for both these guys is that either Torres plays very under control or the JUCO refs in his league don't call fouls. Torres is listed with only 15 fouls in 822 minutes. Cheese is listed with 35 in 388.
