You're still struggling with the "bring your competition to mind" thing, aren't you? Should the time ever come when I am desperate for your advice, I will ask you directly. BTW - you seem to be letting this board moderator thing go to your head.

Oh Thank You sqonk for pointing out the "Go Dutch" thing....since I always pay for my dates, it probably didn't come as readily to mind as it did for you.
That was sarcasm, btw...of course I know the term and recognized the use. If you can show me where I ever indicated that the ad wasn't clever, then your post makes some sense. It is a clever ad, I grant...a successful prank, almost by definition, is clever. OSU should not being sacrificing good sense at the altar of clever.

I guarantee you if I had made that post to you I'd would have been admonished for being a bad poster and warned I was going to 'booted'.

BTW - you seem to be letting this board moderator thing go to your head. I'm not struggling at all with the facts. The facts are you don't like Dutch Bros. and their ads during Beaver games. You hear/think "Ducks" when others hear/think "Dutch." Fair enough. Other posters, including me, have a right to express our opinions too. Your opinions about marketing, advertising are just your opinions. Just as valid as other opinions expressed in this thread. This is where you are struggling. Another fact is that this thread has nothing to do with Women's Basketball. Nada. None. Zilch. Zippo. What I am struggling with is how your posts in this thread come across. You are so riled up about this topic, and others opinions about it, that the tone of your posts turned snarky and uncivil. It's not appreciated and hence my advice to walk it off. Sometimes stepping away from the keyboard will give one a fresh perspective, an enlightenment of what is important. If you have criticism of how I'm running this place, please send me a PM. I'm always looking for ways to improve. I'd like to keep this kind of stuff off the boards, but such is life. We need good posters around here, be one.

I received many complaints about you. Yes, you were admonished/warned a couple of times. Why are you bringing this up now?

I simply brought it up because over the last 2-3 weeks some your posts have become filled with quite a bit of vitriol/insults... and on a higher level than a recent post you admonished me for. The post you slammed for had no negative sentiments toward the poster, and pointed out that presenting facts/opinions is not automatically whining. Although I do not care to know about other "warnings" you have or have not given, I do know other posters have crossed your supposed thresh hold several times... and that includes you. We appreciate the site... but, there are times you seem to not heed your own advice.

Let's say the ones posted just on this thread are worse than some. I'm sure you can go back and find others on your own... but, some easy ones... that certain others would get admonished for...
"So, as usual, you are talking out your ass." "You might want to try and figure out the difference between a "hope" and a "pick." Once you figure that out, you might understand." "Don't let baseba1111 see this news. He wants to sweep it under the rug with nary a comment." "How about you take a nice long walk on the beach to get some perspective?"
Again to me nothing crazy out of line... of course, unless if your me saying them. Enough said...

"You might want to try and figure out the difference between a "hope" and a "pick." Once you figure that out, you might understand." to a friend, received no complaint
"Don't let baseba1111 see this news. He wants to sweep it under the rug with nary a comment." i don't see any insult or vitriol. no complaint received. of course this was directed to you so maybe you're not so sensitive or knew the context and meaning?

Going back to your original post, you asked:
"Does it hit anyone else's ear like it does mine...the thing that irks the most is that it seems intentional by Dutch Bros. But maybe that's just how it sounds to me."
You put forth a question and got some responses. Looks like they fell short of your expectations. Maybe you should write a letter to Todd Stansbury and/or Mark Massari if you really feel these ads are detrimental to Oregon State University Athletics. They are the ones who can actually do something about it.
