Here is what I think it will end up at:
1. Madrigal, CF 2. Morrison, 2B 3. Larnach, RF 4. Harrison, 1B 5. Grenier, SS 6. Ice, C 7. Nobach, LF 8. King, DH 9. Hamliton, 3B

Why no love for Christian Donahue? Did I miss an announcement? With Madrigal, Morrison and Greiner in the mix, Donahue is not expected to play as much as he did last year. I would not expect Gretler to play a ton either, unless the incoming freshman struggle with the bat.

I expect to see the typical pre-conference Casey lineup. Lots of guys rotating in and out as he determines who can handle the pressure of playing at the next level. Fielders will need more than their glove to get and keep a starting spot. That's where the rubber will hit the road. How quickly can these new guys get their bats working? Time will tell.
I have no idea who the Sunday starter will be, but I'll be surprised if he doesn't get off to a fast start. Mitch Hickey will be an opposing teams worst late inning nightmare. The guy can shut people down.
There is a reason we are rated in the top five in all of the respected baseball publications. This is a solid team up and down the lineup. That doesn't mean they are bulletproof, but it does mean they can and will rise to the occasion, when needed. It will be a mistake to ever count them out late in a game, because they will not give up or give in. This season is going to be a lot of fun for us fans, and I do expect we will be playing in Omaha in June. I also expect we will make the ducks wish they had never set foot in Goss. GO BEAVS!

Friday will be Rassmussen, Saturday will be Thompson, Eckert & Heimlich on Sunday & Monday ( no order given ). Other than that, I'm sure Ice at Catcher, Harrison at 1st. King as DH. The others will sort themselves out. So much talent that guys will be all over the place over the weekend.

What about Grenier at 3B? he does have a huge gun and that keeps TMo, who I think is the best pure fielder up the middle. I can see Donahue and Madrigal platooning, especially early.

Grenier built like a third baseman, with the range of a shortstop; but his quickness would serve him well at 3rd. Arm is indeed a 'gun'. Next year with Morrison gone, it will be a seamless transition. Last season infield depth was a bug-a-boo. This season: OMG! Pitching staff is going to love it.

Pretty sure Morrison is only a junior and unless he has a monster year I would expect him back for his senior season.

Good point. Indeed Morrison is a junior, and he could well return as a senior (and thereby lose any leverage he has in the MLB draft). D1 Baseball.com has him pre-season 'ranked' as the 5th highest "Power Ranking" college second baseman in the country. Their stated criteria is "If we were building a team to win the 2016 national title, which players would we choose?" Albeit, we think of him as a shortstop - but many a college SS converts to 2B as a professional (Darwin B., etc.).

I hope Mo has a great season and gets drafted at the end of this year. I would also agree that a move to 2B is likely in store for him at the next level. I would also say that Barney is in a much different category ability wise than what I have seen from Trevor so far. I would tend to put his career more in the likes of a Joey Wong who has struggled for several years in the minors. Just my opinion of course and I wish all of the players success at OSU and beyond.
1 hour til first pitch!
