So the story goes in baseball circles.
MLB has not given up on Drew. His 2017 draft, taken as the 31st pick by Tampa Bay was unfortunate. First, the TB club's MRI was unfavorable and consequently he underwent a second TJ surgery.
Second, by rule TB was required to offer him 60% of slot money, which in his case was 60% of $2.1 mil or $1.26 mil.
His Agent advised him to reject it. Tampa then made an additional offer near $800,000 in the event he reconsidered.
Drew now has a new agent.
