High school seasons just wrapped up for our 4 incoming freshman. Brandon Kaylor 125 lbs - won his 4th state title over the weekend. Finished the year 49-2, believe his two loses were at the Reno TOC. Ranked #17 in the nation per Intermat. www.thenewstribune.com/sports/high-school/article200780324.htmlLogan Meek 149/157 lbs - won his 3rd title for Crater. He actually wrestled at 152 for most of the year and then bumped up to 60 toward the end for lineup purposes and then stayed there for districts/state. Finishes 41-0, went 47-0 as a junior and 38-1 as a sophomore. Watched most of his matches at state, wasn't really challenged IMO... www.mailtribune.com/sports/20180219/crater-champs-brower-meek-did-it-hard-wayJackson McKinney 184/194 lbs - won the 4A 195 lb title for Skyview HS in Vancouver. Was actually out of action for most of January due to mono and came back for postseason. www.columbian.com/news/2018/feb/17/boys-state-wrestling-four-local-champions-all-share-same-thrill/Hayden Still Heavyweight - finished 3rd in Colorado State finals. State champ was Cohlton Schultz who is ranked #2 in the nation. So a #3 finish isn't anything to be upset about... chsaanow.com/2018-01-30/pomona-expects-tight-race-5a-wrestling-team-title/Locally, Crescent Valley had 3 5A state champs - Legend Lamer won his 3rd state title - he'll try to join the 4-timer club next year. Little brother Chance won his first as a freshmen at 106, and Kevin Roberts' son Drew won as a freshman at 113. Good to see the overall numbers and quality up at CV, wasn't that long ago that we saw them take forfeits at multiple weights and have JV level kids thrown into the varsity lineup.
