For all of you lucky baseball fans enjoying the warm sun in Surprise be sure to extend your stay long enough to see our lady basketball team play in Tempe at 1 PM on Sunday the 25th against ASU. With the baseball game at 8 AM that would make for a perfect ending to your trip.

Just remember that because of the one hour time difference it will be 9 am and 2 pm Arizona time. Better to be early though I guess.

Warm sunshine? Yesterday was freezing cold in Surprise Stadium, jackets and Parkas everywhere with a 25 mph blowing through the stadium in the early innings.
Today, it was sunny but 43 degrees at 11am.
There was a rumor circulating through Surprise stadium that the team was flying home for two days just to get warm.
Surprise this week has been a lot like Sitka.

Surprise this week has been a lot like Sitka. Trust me. It's warmer there. It snowed last night and this morning in Corvallis. |

To bad the games weren't in January, record heat, it was 15 degrees warmer. Frost on the grass this morning. I've never seen that after Valentines Day

Oregon State has been playing in Surprise in February since 2014. Those were the 5th, 1st, 2nd, and 9th warmest Februaries in state history, respectively. If the projections hold up, this February is on pace to be the coldest since at least 2001 in Arizona. |
