Big matchup. Gulich vs 'SC's Kristen Simon. Simon is a force inside averaging 18 ppg and 8 rpg.
SC took the sʞɔnp to double overtime so they are capable of walking out of Gill with a W.

SC got hosed in the OT on a shot by Bando that hit rim, then went straight up, bounced on top of the backboard, then down through the hoop. Of course the umpire crew missed the important part of that sequence (ball landing on top of backboard) even under review. Pac 12 channel showed it clearly from a top view.
That sequence put tsdtr up 5 and while not a knockout blow it did stagger SC

Were it not for that bracket it would have rolled over the top of the backboard and o.b. Refs blew that call but I can see how they missed it. Total fluke shot.

It’s the back that is out of bounds. If the ball had hit a support or something else it would have been out. The refs made the correct call.

It did hit a support (shot clock brace) that was attached to the top of the backboard. It didn't just hit the top of the backboard. It was clear on multiple replays that the angle of the support bracket redirected the ball back toward the court.

I’m not sure the refs ever went to replay and that bracket is unfortunately not visible from the court.

As Johnny would say....I did not know that of course "running Ann Schotz" had no clue either. So I'm at least even with her

I saw that too. I’m not sure the refs ever went to replay and that bracket is unfortunately not visible from the court. Because they're inept. It was plain as day from the camera directly above/behind the backboard. It rolled down off of it and only a blind person (or 3) wouldn't have been able to figure that out. Did they ever go to replay? If they don’t know the bracket is there they have no reason to believe that anything interfered with the basketball.

Did they ever go to replay? If they don’t know the bracket is there they have no reason to believe that anything interfered with the basketball. Besides the law of gravity, you mean? No, they didn't. Clearly. Which actually just makes them look that much MORE inept. Or the spin of the ball maybe. Gravity would not be the only force acting in the ball.
