Shooting better from 3 [41-81 .506]
Than from the free throw line [7-14 .500]

Maybe for her free throws, she should just back up to the 3point line and shoot from there.

Shooting better from 3 [41-81 .506] Than from the free throw line [7-14 .500] Bruce Bowen in 2002-03 NBA season shot .441 from behind the arc and .404 from the line. Ended up with career totals of .393 and .575 respectively. This sort of thing does happen in basketball, a good long distance shooter struggles at the free throw line. Maybe they should shoot further back from the line. Isn't that entire semi-circle legal to shoot from within?

This goes back a ways but Henry Bibby at UCLA used to shoot his free throws one step to the right of the middle of the FT line. He was an 80% FT shooter.

Wilt Chamberlain would shoot free throws from just inside the key.

Pretty small sample size. I felt pretty confident when she went to the line on Friday, but she missed both of them. Something to easily work on in the off-season.

An unusual stat for sure. But it seems to me that meagre sample size is the key issue in Goodman's case. 14 shots in an entire season for a Frosh !! Nowhere near what you need.
In Aleah's case, I'm not worried because her form is good and her release is good. She will have a good career % from the line...
Aleah does not need to work on her free throw shooting in the off season anymore than anyone else in this team. My guess is that she will spend most of her practice time this summer working on bringing the ball up court against tight man pressure. Like Mik she dribbles with way too much verticality - she protects the ball poorly with her upper body - which makes defensive sniping much easier. Most defensive minded guards in the Pac would love a shot at Goodman bringing the ball up court because she is (comparatively speaking) an easy target.
She is a winner, she is coachable, and she can shoot. But right now she can't bring the ball up court under pressure worth a damn... GO BEAVS

Wilt Chamberlain would shoot free throws from just inside the key. The NCAA initiated the rule that a free throw shooter must remain behind the free throw line til the ball hits the rim because of Wilt reportedly. Apparently he could stuff it from behind the line.
