I’ve tried curling and it is WAY harder than you think. It’s like golf on ice. Anyone can golf, but you can’t pick up a nine iron one day and be on the PGA Tour in six months. It’s also super fun. If you live in the Portland area, check out Evergreen Curling Club. They offer learn to curl sessions from time to time. I'm not saying it's not challenging. I'm just saying you don't have to be in any kind of condition to do it. Kind of like WSOP or American Idol. You can’t be a stiff. When’s the last time any of us got in a lunge as deep as those guys do?

Look at Bartolo Colon in baseball, or some of the linemen in football. The Round Mound of Basketball wasn't in that great of shape while he played also. One of the greatest baseball players of all time, Babe Ruth was out of shape, smoked, drank, and he was still able to be amazing at his sport. Sports are mental as well as physical. You need to have great body control to do curling to be able to stay on the ice and move how they move, plus they need to be strong enough to sweep. They also have to control how fast or slow they push the granite. That takes some conditioning to be able to do all of those things. It's not like they are just sitting at a table like in the WSOP.

It certainly can't be because they aren't wearing a ton of clothes on ice. I'm sure you also haven't watched curling enough to see anyone sweat. Before bashing on if someone needs to be conditioned for it, try playing an entire match and do the sweeping and see if you are tired from it.

Must take effort of some sort. I saw that the Russian curling medalist is suspected of testing positive for a banned substance.

I'd rather watch the trees grow in my backyard.

USA Men in the Gold Medal game after beating Canada. Not a good day for Canada yesterday, this combined with the silver medal in women's hockey.

And I present to you, the 2018 Olympics Men's Curling Gold Medal winners, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! I'm not saying these guys aren't atheletes with skill, I am just saying they should be cracking open a beer between ends, I mean this reminds me of city league bowling - this sport demands a beer be sacrificed!
