Yeah, sorry, you're just out muscled Drew.

Athletic enough, but.......I don’t think he understands the effort required to excel. I’m not going to question his “heart.” Tinkle just hasn’t got thru to him. Neither seems capable

Neither seems capable Athletic doesn't equal hoops skills. Drew is very limited in his game. He is athletic... period. His attitude and work ethic/focus are inconsistent at best... as noted by the last several announcing crews. His offensive game is dunk and hooks mainly over his left shoulder. Defensively he likes to block shots, but plays poor position and is a below average rebounder for his size and athleticism. But, you'd also expect more improvement if WT was a good teacher and/or Drew was coachable. There's good $ overseas.

He doesn’t seem to want it bad enough, which puts him in the ‘not coachable’ category.

He's 6' 10 250, plays 32 minutes a game, gets all those free defensive rebounds just lining up for free throws. Even a stiff should be getting 8+ a game. Squanders inside position. That's not going to work in an NBA training camp when the roughhousing begins. The association eats up big guys who don't move their feet. Drew should watch what happens when a Zach Collins lines up on the free throw line for an offensive rebound. The inside guy turns and looks directly at HIM, not at the shooter. It's mano a mano and bully always wins. Drew is going to get erased up there if he doesn't change his footwork.

He doesn’t seem to want it bad enough, which puts him in the ‘not coachable’ category. I have a co-worker half my age who was a very talented high school player. 6-7, could move and shoot. Lots of upside. I would consider him a lower D1 program talent if he worked hard. I have no doubt that he was celebrated from the time he started playing. He was raised with a basketball silver spoon. I considered him a good friend. That being said, he does not take criticism well at all.

I know he has his faults but I don't put his struggles completely on him. I think part of the issue is our failure to get him the ball. There are plenty of times I've seen where our guards simply don't try hard enough to get him the ball. Light defensive pressure on the ball = no pass inside. When Tinkle yells enough to get the ball inside we generally do that for a series or two and then go away from it. We have too many possessions where we end up with a poor outside shot without inside involvement and that is not all on Eubanks.

I would not be surprised if this is not his last year at OSU. When he tested the NBA waters last year he and his father talked about how serious they were about leaving school early. He has probably taken his game as far as he can at the college level and if he wants to earn a paycheck - whether that be from riding the end of an NBA bench (less likely) or playing in the G league or overseas (more likely) - he may not see the point in waiting around another year.

Then I hope he can speak German, Italian or French. Because he's not gonna make any money in the NBA. He needs to get his degree. Because he won't be playing pro basketball much past 27 or 28.
