For legal issues of OSU baseball players?
For folks consumed with that issue to congregate.
I'd rather talk about OSU baseball - especially the 2018 team's prospects.

I'll play. We need one of those young arms to come through, Abel or Donovan. If Heimlich can block out the noise, he'll be fine. Fehmel is Fehmel, could be good or bad. Sometimes guys will have a good draft year. Tweet might be our midweek starter. Our bullpen will be ridiculously loaded. Might be hard to find innings for some guys. Same goes for position players. Going to have step up to get playing time. The only open position is first base right now. All others should be pretty much locked down. Would be nice to get a back up catcher developed so Rutschman can get a breather. Nobach coming back from injury...great to have a veteran out there sometimes. He could platoon with Anderson/Kwan as a Righty/Lefty matchup (since we all know Pat likes doing that). 02/16/18 can't get here soon enough.

TMGS! Pitching amazing, and depth in position players that is amazing to me. The Nobach situation is a tough one. The way Kwan was hitting at the end of the season, platooning him makes no sense. Can hardly wait for Surprise to surprise us - Coach Casey has a tough job ahead of him with so many AAA and AA-A players. No junk bonds on that squad!

Kwan, Larnach, J. Anderson, Nobach = 3 outfielders and a DH.

I don't know how you keep Preston Jones out of the lineup. Speed never takes a day off. Would be curious to know if Jack or Trevor have spent any time at first base this spring.

Deep deep outfield and bulpen. Everybody sees it. Everybody knows it. But what about the middle infield? How about the corners? What happens if or when Madrigal or Grenier goes down? Now it's not like someone of Madrigal's caliber is going to step in a perform like nothing happened but what exactly would the hit be like? Is the replacement a PAC-12 caliber middle infielder? Who would be the candidates at the corners and up the middle?

I did not see anyone mention Tyler Malone in this thread. He was basically the backup first baseman last year and often the first option as a pinch hitter. I would probably bet he will have the most starts at first base. The only thing I do not know is when he will be completely healthy.

Malone, Freshman Zac Clayton, Zac Taylor are all options at 1B. I think Taylor can play Catcher as well. Gretler can play first, Grenier can play 2B, SS or 3B. If we get an injury up the middle...it will be huge, but their is enough talent to weather the storm.

I think Preston Jones will likely assume the same role that Elliot Cary had last year as a late inning defensive replacement. He is going to be very good, but it is really hard to find much PT this year with those other 4 in the fold.
Zak Taylor and Tyler Malone could be a righty/lefty platoon, but defensively Taylor has the edge. Not sure where McGarry fits in this year.
Both Gretler and Taylor should get a few starts at catcher to spell Adley, who has also spent some time at first base this spring.
Andy Armstrong is my pick as the most likely "other" infielder to get playing time. He can play 3rd if Gretler is catching or middle infield if (god forbid) Grenier or Madrigal are out of the lineup.

I'm anticipating a few of the Bullpen guys to be starters this year. We need to find our Sunday guy then our mid week guy.
The bullpen will still be strong.... but curious to see if we close by committee or pick one closer. I think Pat would tell us the way they play will dictate that.
Almost Baseball season!

I wouldn’t sleep on Sam Tweedt as a weekender..... he was a good starter before he got hurt. And he’s had a full year plus now to get healthy again

If competition truly makes everybody better, we should really be good this year. Pitchers better throw strikes and pitch effectively if they want innings. Same for hitters, get on base if you expect to play.
I suspect PC will make maximum use of the red shirt this year. Freshman OF Darius Foster will be the fastest guy on the team this year (yes, Jones is fast), but I can't see any way he doesn't red shirt this year. Same for RHP Michael Attalah, who has a high ceiling, has little chance to find a start or come out of the pen this year.
OSU's unusual depth and experience is a good problem for the program to have. PC has numerous match-up and strategic options, late inning defensive strengthening, and can deal with unexpected injuries. Kids have to wait their turn to play, but that's a price to be paid when you are in a powerful program.

Beavs should have fairly good team speed this season, but it never hurts to have blazer on the bench that comes in to pressure the opponent at key times.
I'm hoping Nobach can pick up where he left off. I still feel 1B would be a good option for Larnach, but maybe he doesn't do it very well.

(Instead of depressed about off-field "stuff") 2018 is shaping up as a very memorable season. I'll be following every game.
