Surprised there hasn't been more comment about what is looming as a major Pac-12 WBB showdown tonight at Gill.
I haven't had time to dig up any "research" on the game tonight, but I know enough about Stanford to know they are a solid team, well coached, 2 or 3 big time players (especially McPhee), and no matter how you look at it, they are a tough, tough out.
Talent-wise I think most fans of the game would give a slight nod to Stanford; coaching-wise it's probably a toss; gym-wise the nod definitely goes to Gill, its faithful fans and the spirit of Beaver Nation.
Two good teams will be slugging it out..Some things I will be watching closely:
Stanford's D will wilt an offense when perimeter players don't deliver.
Gulich must stay out of foul trouble - Stanford is just too tough in the paint without Marie's D presence.
Mik & Kat must hit 5 or 6 3s between them otherwise Gulich will not see the ball the way she needs to.
Stanford is physical so Corosdale will get banged around if she doesn't come out strong, mean and aggressive...Tonight we might learn how tough she really is. She's skilled, but she needs to show more toughness.
It's looking like a great game tonight at Gill - wish I could be there...
