I hope that is correct, but if that article that you are referring to was authored by D. Moran I would have reason to question its accuracy.

Does anyone want to talk about the team and the upcoming season and move past Heimlich, Moran, The Oregonian, etc.? It is getting so tired.

Start a thread about baseball. Don't reply to threads not about baseball. Eventually, the transition to pure baseball talk will happen organically when the games begin. But a shocking topic like LH is going to linger forever.

Who does everyone think will claim the #3 and #4 starters role?

My guess for the first four games in Surprise:
1) Heimlich 2) Fehmel 3) Tweedt 4) Britton

My guess for the first four games in Surprise: 1) Heimlich 2) Fehmel 3) Tweedt 4) Britton Great promise with that staff, Hope to see a good amount of innings too from Kevin Abel...or whichever Freshman has shown the most promise in Fall ball and Winter workouts to be a possible starter. Seems like the Beavs have consistently added a first-rate Freshman to the starter corps (even if it's only mid-week games).

One or two of those early season games usually results in one of my favorite PC / freshman (or underclassman) pitcher rites of passage: getting yanked in the top of the 2nd inning for going 3-0 on the lead-off hitter. Never fails. Can set your watch to it...

1. Heimlich 2. Fehmel 3. Tweedt 4. Abel
are my 4 guesses, but I bet you see Chamberlain too one of those weekends in the desert.

I definitely think we'll see Chamberlain throw, but I would be surprised if it is as a starter. Abel and Gambrell are both possibilities to start that last game of the first weekend. I suspect there will be a change or two for the 2nd weekend, depending on how guys coming out of the pen do (in comparison to the starter).
Also wondering if there will be a true closer this year or if it will be a committee again? Not sure I can take 5 relievers in a 9th inning again!

I’ll be attending with other friends for the 3rd year in a row. For those who are on the fence (regarding work-a-day mundane priorities or coin) whether to attend or not: DO IT! It is a beyond a Glorious manner in which to kick off the college BB season. Tickets are cheap and soooo available; players are just plain jacked to be playing COUNTING games (this ain’t like MLB ‘exhibition’ preseason BS games); and the weather is far preferable to an Oregon February.

We need Gambrell to come out and just light it up! I think he is the X Factor that could push our pitchers over the hump and be better than last years squad. He is a Flame thrower!
