For the first time in forever, OSU has not received a Pac-12 Player of the Week or Freshman of the Week award.... 12 weeks into the season, no less. You just have to tune into the Pac-12 channel any time a women's event is going on to get a good idea of who the Player of the Year will be......Satou might be Frosh of the Year as well, depending on how the season plays out. I just find it interesting that we have not been able to land any weekly honors despite Taya and Aleah playing quite well at times, and Marie and Kat turning in some career performances. Hopefully this week..... Go Beavers!

I think we are going to continue to be overlooked for accolades. Twelve blocks and double digits scoring in two games is impressive and Kat is really coming into her own. One thing counting against our girls is that they are not the "look at me" players so they don't draw a lot of attention to themselves.

Top 5 teams (In order of Pac 12 standings today): Oregon, UCLA, Stanford, OSU, Cal
Here are the number of POW wins for those top 5 teams thus far: 12 weeks - POW: Oregon (5), UCLA (3), Stanford (1), OSU (0), Cal (2), All others (1) 12 weeks - FPOW: Oregon (4), UCLA (1), Stanford (1), OSU (0), Cal (2), All others (4)
It does seem like OSU might be due. Gulich needs to have another normal weekend for her and the Pac12 needs to notice.

Marie Gulich for the weekend: Points: 49 Rebounds: 21 Blocks: 7 Assists: 6
That feels like a Pac-12 POTW performance, especially against UCLA and USC. It'd be a nice way to cap senior weekend.

Good Lord - the refs are against us, the opposing team is lying about an individual using racial slurs at Gill, the Oregonian is out to get us, and now OUR OWN CONFERENCE IS DELIBERATELY SNUBBING OUR WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYERS FROM PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARDS!
Welcome to Rodney Dangerfield University.
