Interesting reactions to the first 'uck victory in 7 years and 15 attempts..... First - Kat Tudor: “It’s going to be great, it’s going to be tough,” said Oregon State sophomore guard Kat Tudor, who led the Beavers in scoring both games, including a sensational career-high 34-point performance on Friday. “I think it’s just going to drag more and more people in to watch. Everybody’s intrigued by this, and we’re both young teams and we’re both going to get better from here. The competition is going to grow, too.” Next - Sabrina Ionescu: “It’s kind of nice to shut their crowd up, shut their fans up,” she said. “Because we’re coming. We’re coming every game that we play them now. The rivalry’s huge, obviously. We had a great crowd out there (Sunday) and they did as well. It was fun at their place and it was even more fun here. That might be because we won.” Read the whole article here. Go Beavers!

Not a huge Ionescu fan, the arrogance and attitude just drips off of her, that being said, she is very good, too bad she's down there in that swamp!!

Not a huge Ionescu fan, the arrogance and attitude just drips off of her, that being said, she is very good, too bad she's down there in that swamp!! I agree. Just a different tone between her and Kat. SI is all about “shutting fans up”, while Kat is stoked for the thrill of competition. Down south - as is the case across the board on athletics - it’s all about the image. It’s interesting that Kat and Sabrina played on the same AAU team (as did Aleah Goodman and Evina Westbrook. None of the other 3 wanted to play college ball with SI. In fact, Westbrook’s parents took oregon off her list going into her senior year afte Ionescu committed. Sabrina is cocky and confident and really good, and I know Scott loved her skill set (who wouldn’t), but I’m wondering how much he loved the ego? It was interesting to see Kat virtually match SI point for point in Ionescu’s career high game in our win on Friday - on a dozen fewer shots. Give us Destiny Slocum - tenacious AND classy star- any day...oh yeah, she’s here and she’ll have some special sauce for SI the next two seasons!

I'd take a Kat "type" player any day. The whole look at me player like si just would not fit in on our team. Westbrook is the same way, both waited until they had all the attention to themselves to announce their decision on where to play.
The two teams have diverged to the point that a player interested in one team is not usually going to be interested in the other. They will get the flashy offensive oriented player and we will get the hard nosed defensive player that prefers grit over flash. Fortunately at the level we are recruiting a majority of the girls can shoot, the same can't be said for the offensive player playing defense.

As I mentioned during her recruitment she and her parents were the Balls before there were Balls, just without the larger forum. I could care less how good, she's not the kind of person SR wants. Rumor was she chose ucks, but OSU was no longer an option in that decision.

The Flopper says they didn't talk much about the streak. Then she specifically says how nice it was to "shut their crowd up, shut their fans up."
We're in her head.
