When Berger was recruited, I thought it unlikey to contribute because his stats were fairly low. But he's had some good games and really come on in the Pac 12. His stats for the Pac 12 (min/pts/rebs):
ASU 18/7/8 UA 17/4/6
uo 19/12/5
UU 18/7/2'
COL 14/0/4
UCLA 22/10/4
He also doesn't turn the ball over much and anyone who has listened to/seen the games can tell you that a lot of his points or rebs have been pretty clutch. He's not a world-beater, but he's giving OSU some good, solid minutes and some much needed help up front.
Overall, a good one year transfer recruit for Tinkle.

Every good team has a player like Berger. The unsung guy who just makes the team better by doing a lot without the gaudy stats. Sort of like Kurt Rambis and then A.C Green from the 80's Lakers team. Excellent addition to the team.

Excellent addition to the team. agreed. Berger isn't exactly the patty but he isn't just a bun. i hope Kone is paying attention to how Seth cuts to the basket after a screen and how ready he is to pass to the cutter as soon as he gets the ball. Seth's fundamentals are all there. Kone has tenacious like Berger but is a beast and just needs to learn some tricks.

Smart, mature, calm and yet a frenetic competitor. I love what he brings to the team. It’s another example of the value of guys NOT being one and done. On an individual basis, it may be good for guys to play a year and leave, but college basketball is much better and more enjoyable to watch when teams have 3rd and 4th year veterans who are savvy and mature and have been through a lot together.

Man you nailed it right there....totally true about how veteran players improve the quality of college basketball.
