Teams in the NBA could never stop Stockton to Malone. I would like to see Pivec and one of the incoming tall girls develop a similar approach next season. Highly effective when executed.

I only watched the 4th quarter, but I was blown away how neither team really made an adjustment defensively. We kept letting Ionescu and Hebard play pick n' roll and Gulich was just not quick enough or unwilling to step out on Ionescu, allowing her 8 foot jumper after 8 foot jumper. On the other side, UO went a good long while in their 2-3 zone, but being forced to extend along the baseline because of Tudor, Gulich just ate McGwire's lunch for a good six minute stretch. Finally UO went man to man and got a little more ball pressure to help deter the entry pass to Gulich, but through some strange decision making, UO inexplicably started running pick and roll on the other side of the court, where Corosdale was much quicker and more willing to step out and deny Ionescu that little jumper.
Then the overtime happened, and all of a sudden both teams changed everything they'd done that was so successful offensively. Corosdale and McWilliams start taking all the shots, and on the other end there were a couple straight trips down the court where Ionescu is not bringing the ball down the court at all as McGwire and others are taking shots.
That being said, that was the most entertaining women's game I think I've ever seen. Kudos to both teams for making this rivalry so fun.

Except in this case there is no Malone. RH can't create a shot and is no threat unless she's at the rim and off one leg. How about you just hedge hard, double, make SI pick up the dribble, and make some one else beat you. A great win, but some very strange coaching strategies. Corosdale dropping 10 feet off on pick/roll to allow deep penetration... leaving a unathletic big to hit wide open 12-15' for 10 huge points. Not doubling SI... like we did on the last OB... to keep it completely out of her hands... not fouling SI as soon as she touched it for 2 fts and possession with 3 sec left vs letting her shoot a game tying three... using your last timeout when they must foul and have to then inbound, barely, vs pressure. We won and lost this game like 5 times. Ucks will be hurting... tough tough way to lose. Sunday will be interesting... prob completely opposite and low scoring?!
