We didn't really defeat the ducks, since they were without Bando, so my prediction is not incorrect, only void. Being Bando-less was just an unlikely and unexpected disruption in my prognosticating, is all. Unfortunately, we will be steamrolled on Sunday, so prepare for disappointment. Of course, I could be wrong. You heard it here, first!

Yeah, you weren't wrong, you just ran out of time.

We didn't really defeat the ducks, since they were without Bando... Bando averages 10.5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. She was replaced in the starting lineup tonight by McGwire, who had 10 points and 9 rebounds.

After the game Coach Rueck was overheard saying that he wanted to thank @thickhead for the bulletin board material.

You didn’t qualify your prediction so it stands as not only incorrect but wrong and ill informed. *ucks could have had Sal Bando playing for them. It wouldn’t have made any difference.

Of course, I could be wrong. You heard it here, first! I guess that every time a team beats another without their 3rd or 4th best player, they don’t really beat them. I interesting way to cover your tail when you’re wrong. You say “we” in reference to the Beavs, but your posts about this have had so much duck love that your true allegiance seems debatable. This uo team is a nice team, but we’ve had better ones in the state within the past couple of years. You almost seem gleeful in talking about us getting “steamrolled” in Eugene tomorrow. You may even be correct, but I’d say that my prediction a couple weeks ago that we would be the most likely team to sweep the series if someone did looks more accurate. Here’s a thought when you are posing as a Beaver fan on a Beaver board. At least pretend to be more happy about the Beavs winning than mad about being wrong in your prognostication. Sports provides a continuous study in not dwelling on “yeah, buts” or “what if’s”. You don’t go out on a “you heard it here first” limb about a perfect league record unless you expect every player to remain healthy, every key shot going in for 18 games, and every legit opponent in a legit conference missing every key shot against them. As good as the team in Mark Campbell’s image may potentially be, they are uo, not UConn.

He graduated from OSU and loves OSU women's basketball. He's just the kind of person who, when the odds aren't in favor of his side, takes the pessimistic view... maybe to prepare himself for disappointment, should it happen. He gets very distressed when we lose and often can't watch when we are behind. He also likes to get a reaction from people on this board.

I get the part about being distressed when we lose, but if he could have even opened with something like, “I was wrong, the Beavs really did a great job and earned a great win”, it would have done wonders. After that, pointing to the absence of Bando helping a little and/or the real possibility of the ducks winning big tomorrow for payback at home would be reasonable for any realistic Beav fan. Oh well, definitely not a big deal, but when people make grand predictions and are wrong, it’s nice to see them admit it. I will admit that the ducks are better than I realized, and I’m done ribbing Ionescu for her “drama queen” recruitment antics. She’s a tremendous player.
