It is pretty clear to me, our defense has emerged finally. Players are figuring it out. A hallmark of coach Tinkle's style and philosophy is back and it is good to see.
When you hold a team like Arizona, a ranked team you are playing on the road, to 62 points, there is little more you could possibly ask from your defense.
The lack of a true point guard is our clear heel. I would not be stunned to see every team we face all year press and trap us. We struggle with it.
Overall, I can't be too upset over a tough effort against a good team on the road. It just sucks knowing everything was there to win it. I could of been ours.

Ken Pom has a stat called "defensive efficiency" on his site. To be honest, I have no idea how it is calculated. Saying that, the top ten in the country are Virginia, Cincinnati, Texas Tech, Central Florida, MiamiFL, Texas, Michigan State, Texas A&M, West Virginia, and Purdue. Low numbers are good and Virginia is at 85.8 and Purdue is 91.2. Oregon State is ranked 114 at 101.2. But for the four conference games OSU is #1 in the Pac-12 and that number is 94.8. Over the course of a season, 94.8 puts us at #30 with Rhode Island and Notre Dame.

It's been pretty amazing.. in the 12 non conference games against not the greatest schedule OSU gave up 70.17 ppg.. in the 4 PAC 12 games so far OSU is giving up 62.25 ppg against tougher competition

Took a few games to settle in, but now it has been looking real good. Just gotta solve a few issues on offense.
