Sydney Wiese affectionately referred to Marie Gulich as the "Germ" and that nickname has apparently stuck. I heard Mikayla Pivec respond to a Ron Callan question about whether Marie deserved to be PAC-12 Player of the Week after the series with the two Washington schools with a "Feed the Germ" reference during a post-game interview last Sunday. Gulich's consistently strong play this season gives the Beavs a realistic hope for earning a fourth consecutive PAC-12 title this season. The ESPN story accessible below about handicapping the Power 5 conferences for women's basketball cites the impressive scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots stats of Gulich, but omits her impressive 65.5% field goal accuracy, good for seventh among D1 players in the country. Simply stated, Gulich has been one of the most efficient women's basketball players in the country so far this season. The first article link below contains the following excerpt: Among the most anticipated weekends in Pac-12 play will be Jan. 19-21, when Oregon and No. 16 Oregon State play each other twice: first in Corvallis and then in Eugene. They're the top two offenses in the league (Oregon 89.2 PPG, Oregon State 80.8) and the Beavers -- led by center Marie Gulich's 16.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.3 blocks -- are also the top defense (53.7 average points allowed).www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/21950329www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-women/d1/current/individual/107

Wife and I went to the PAC 12 W.B.B. Tournament last year and had a great time. Good Basketball and great location. We are going again this year. I challenge everyone to go up to Seattle for this. Great tournament and the Lady Beavs never fail to entertain.
We should turn the Key arena Orange...
