Everybody is all upset about the last :30.
Yes, the zeebs screwed the pooch and YES the inbounder traveled and it was properly called. The only time you get to move without a pivot foot is after a made FG or FT. He danced more than enough to draw a call. Anyone smart enough to get into college legitimately needs to be smart enough and experienced enough to know this. Then again, the official, using the preventative officiating principle, should have told him to keep a pivot foot. But, this isn't junior high.

There is nothing whatsoever referencing a pivot foot in the rule regarding an in-bounds pass. A player can jump in the air and throw the ball, or move back if he/she wishes. He/she does not have to keep a pivot foot established.

The last 10 minutes were just as ridiculous as the last 30 seconds. The officials went into we have to determine a specific outcome mode like they had something at stake. It was terrible.

Traveling applies when you are inbounding the ball

I’m usually not one to blame the refs, and there’s plenty of blame to be put on the players, but those refs definitely had an effect on that game.

Last 30 seconds was hardly the entirety of the problem. Once OSU went up 51-45, the next 3 Ute possessions saw them 'score' despite twice committing charges (including one that was the exact same hipcheck that the same referee was quick to call against Drew earlier) and then on the worst missed call - allowed the Ute center to grab the rim with both hands despite having been stripped down low - which is an automatic offensive basket interference call. All 3 officials are apparently unaware of that rule, and let the play continue, which led to a Ute basket.

The officiating was bad, no doubt. But, we mostly lost that game because we missed a ton of shots and gave Utah too many easy buckets down the stretch. I do give credit to Utah for playing hard nosed defense down the stretch. We had our chances. Some times you have to overcome the officials, but in the end, hit some open shots, play a little better D, and you win regardless. It pisses me off to get homered at home, but with G out, it really hurt losing Drew’s presence around the rim. Our outside shooting, inconsistant at best, is killing us. In today’s game, you’ve got to have some 3 pt gamers. We’re not there yet.

I like him late to cover Colllette and Tres to help on the 3 point line. Maybe something I didn’t see?

Regardless of whether Ethan should have been called for traveling or not, the Utah player did the same thing right after and SURPRISE! Not called

Regardless of whether Ethan should have been called for traveling or not, the Utah player did the same thing right after and SURPRISE! Not called I watched him. He didn't cover as much ground. That rule has too much interpretation involved. I think the rule states there's a 36 inch zone you have to keep a foot in, the referee video posted earlier said a player could move up to 36 inches... the two are completely different things depending on interpretation.
