Opening week sweep with 2 decisive W's. You can't do any better than that.
Congrats to Kat with the career-high 27.
Bring on 2018!

KT is really stepping up her game this season! She has a shooter' s mentality and will continue to get better. Her future is bright.

And that's no knock on Ruth. I agree about Marie. More athletic, and such a solid all-around game, including passing. Also, no knock on Ruth. If Marie develops a bit more thru the season she should be at least 2nd Team All American. We'll miss her next year even with excellent height coming in as Freshmen. Maybe Corosdale will grow 2 more inches in the next 11 months (!!?)

And that's no knock on Ruth. Totally agree as an athlete. But, Ruth had help and rarely ever carried a team offensively. Ruth was far stronger in the post both on offense and defense... an immovable object so to speak. Marie is more a product of European hoops and much more development as a youth. And just a better athletic build. Just saying stats don't tell the whole story. And Marie being our only inside threat will will come back to haunt us in several games this year.

Only in the eyes of those trying to create issues. They are both great and very different players surrounded by very different talents. Find another fish, your bait is extremely weak.

I hereby 'un-hijack' this thread (from being a tit for tat)...and bring it back to talking about the excellent PAC 12 2-0 start.
Probably fortunate that the Beavs began at home, against a couple of non-PAC-12 title contenders....they needed that. It wasn't until the 3rd quarter of each game that they got rolling. But boy howdy, did they.
Defensive pressure by quick opposing point guards has pointed out the need to keep working on the first 5-10 seconds of each possession. I thought that the best they looked in that regard was on Friday when both Pivec and Goodman were in the lineup.
Corosdale is looking much less like a Freshman...her basketball instincts really took over on a few plays today.
Great start. One of two or three toughest PAC 12 road games is in a mere 6 days. J. Canada & Billings, and team. Canada took an amazing 28 shots from the field in UCLA loss to Stanford (only made 7). Unlikely that sort of performance will occur 1/6/2018 in los angeles. Go Beavs!

Credit Coach Rueck for those third quarter outbursts, with the necessary adjustments. Having strong second halfs means no lead is safe for the oposition. Offense wins games, but defense wins championships.

I sat in the 2nd row this game instead of my usual sky perch. It was interesting seeing the personal interaction up close. It seems to me that KtMac is the brains of the team but Mik is the heart. I was unhappy to see that the bench was such a non factor this game and against the Huskies. In every other game our bench has out scored the other teams. These two games we weren't just out scored, we were hammered off the bench. Taylor, Aleah, and Maddie tried and missed a couple of shots against Wazoo and then never tried again. Wazoo plays rough and it seems to have put some of the team out of sorts. Good to get the wins, but against better teams our bench needs to show up to play.
I really wish Taya and Kt would stop thinking of themselves as 3 pt shooters. All of the mid range shots they have tried that I have seen have either scored or resulted in Marie/Jo getting a rebound/score. this team has lots of long range shooters, a few mid range shots would open things up inside. The Washington games consisted of Marie and 3 point shots. The well rounded offense they have shown up to now has vanished. Good thing they seem to be able to crank up the D. when they need to.
