Yea, brutal, Fortunately, Colorado fans are screaming "THIS TEAM NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO NOT TURN IT OVER!!!!" Bigs dominance of CU was countered by our guard dominance in the passing lanes (+12 on TOs). Fortunately, we came out ahead overall as a result.

Gutsy win for the good guys. That's two tough wins in a row. I am impressed with the kids not giving up, keep fighting and finding a way to win. I loved the passion Coach Tinkle showed during one of the last timeouts. I can only guess but I'm thinking he was a bit upset about not only getting out rebounded, but by also getting out hustled. I would expect practice this week will be interesting. We have a lot to work on, but building a culture of winning is a great start. At some point in time, hopefully sooner than later, wins on the road will come. Anyway, great, gutsy, tough pair of wins!
GO BEAVS! ftd

Quick question. If we don't box out, and keep winning, does it matter? I know it is very frustrating, and kills me we can't figure out basic rebounding technique. However, am enjoying the ride. Perhaps ya'all would like coach Rob back, to get up from time to time, and yell MOVE!!

I know it matters. Semi sarcasm. The point is, we just don't have the bangers. Olaf is soft, and Drew has only just picked this game up a few years ago. You think coach T would have ever recruited Gomis, or, hell, the 7' foot dude? Coach still has half of coach Rob's guys. Two years from now, you will be loving it.

I watched Olaf stand there flat footed god knows how many times, getting beat for rebounds right in front of him...it is excruciating to watch. that said, I'll take the win any day of the week. Beat Stanford on Thursday and shoot for a sweep of the Washington schools...then tourney becomes more realistic, yet again.

There really is no excuse for Olaf not be better at blocking out and rebounding. He can still be as effective from outside AND do a better job inside. I don't think coach is asking him to be a superman. Tink knows he's not a physical guy. But for heaven's sake, he takes it to a whole new level. His brother wasn't a physical guy either, but he came to play every time out and didn't hesitate to mix it up inside. He might be the x factor in us making the tourney or not, depending on whether he steps up. He has enough physicality now to do so.

Even with the awful rebounding, if we shoot even 40% we'd have had Colorado down 20 at the break. Just a tough night all around, but we walked away from it victorious nonetheless. Great evening in Gill - crowd was very into it!
