Oregon State’s rise to the top of the Pac-12 Conference in women’s basketball has been due in part because of its defense. The Beavers have had the last three defensive players of the year — Ruth Hamblin twice (2014-14, 2015-16) and Gabby Hanson (2016-17) — and have been among the best teams in all of Division I the past few years. Nothing has really changed this season. The Beavers are second in field goal percentage defense at 30.7 (Baylor leads at 30.5); fourth in defensive rebounding (32 per game); fifth in blocked shots (6.9 per game); eighth in rebounding margin (12.5) and 11th in scoring defense (52.9 per game). OSU women's basketball: Beavers defense again standing out

You can really tell Coach Rueck grew up in the Miller era. His teams are defense first. Good positioning and move your feet.
It is a joy to watch
