There may be some absolutely stacked brackets! Hoping to catch Daton Fix of Ok State at 125 - see if the hype is real. Want to try to catch Dhesi in action as well.
On a personal note, here's hoping our Jc kids don't get too wide eyed tomorrow going up against the big boys! Big step up for us from the Umpqua's and Warner Pacific's of the world!

Caught Dhesi's first match. Won 9-5 I think. Thought he was favoring the knee a bit but still able to use some quickness for a couple of nice low singles. He was pretty gassed by the 3rd, think he still has a ways to go.
Saw Bressers first match, not much competition for him in that one. Think I just missed seeing Doyle...

Bresser, Dhesi and Griego into the semis. Bresser gets Daton Fix next- should be a great one! Jack, Willits, Colt Doyle still alive on other side. NC Stafe running away with team score... they probably have 9 or 10 in the semis.
Bresser loses to Fix 2-1 on RT. Got in deep a couple times and couldn't finish. Great match. No shame in that one.
Think I just saw Doyle get carried off the mat. Didn't look good. knee maybe. Hope not serious...

Dhesi wins the title with a 5-3 decision! Nice title to have for him! He definitely looked better as the day went on IMO... Griego took 3rd, Bresser 4th (injured in 3rd place match), Coleman wrestled well for 4th place and Hathaway took 6th in a pretty loaded 141 bracket.

A bit on Dhesi from The Open Mat....
10) The return
One of our five most dangerous 0-0 wrestlers from last week no longer qualifies for that list as Amar Dhesi (Oregon State), sporting a sizable knee brace, showed up in Reno, claimed the top seed, then dispatched five opponents on his way to the title. The 2016 All-American was pushed, especially by Michale Boykin (NC State) in the semi-finals, but he did not surrender a single takedown on the day. When the Canadian topped Jere Heino (Campbell), 5-3, in an all-international final, he put himself right back in the conversation for a top-eight finish at 285.

I made a comment yesterday while watching that I didn't realize they made knee braces that size! Bresser could sleep in it.

This looked like the teams best performance of the year. It may have been very costly. From what I could see, Calkins, Mode, and Doyle were all helped off the mat and not putting any weight on a leg. There is a chance they are lost for the year. Williams also injury defaulted out of the tournament. Bresser defaulted in his last match and looked like he was limping a little in a earlier match. Olmos, to me, performed the best at 165. It is obvious that he has a shoulder and leg that are bothering him some. Hopefully, they can all get healthy.
