Mississippi State took down the *ucks 90-79. They have lost two now, Louisville beat them earlier. With ucla (2 losses) and stanford (4 losses) also having issues this pre-season it looks like the Pac 12 is wide open.

Ours were against ranked opponents, so were the *ucks. One of ucla's losses was against uconn. My point was that no one in the Pac 12 appears to be dominate, at least for now.

bib - I agree that none of the PAC teams seem to be dominant, or, so to speak, in a class of their own. None of them have shown they can beat a national power on the road - but that's a tough expectation to meet. I personally expected both UCLA & Oregon to have racked up more signature wins by now - based on their incredible abundance of basketball talent, and the number of experienced players taking the floor this season....
If the coaches voted tomorrow on who would win the PAC my guess is that Oregon, UCLA & Stanford would be the top 3....
You've got to admit, though, the the Beavs are showing very impressive signs of being a real contender. GO BEAVS !!

Here's your rundown:
USC - Losses: None. Best Wins: None. First test is tomorrow against #19 Texas A&M. UO - Losses: Louisville, Miss.St. Best Win: #19 Texas A&M Cal - Losses: UConn, Missouri (now #16) Best Wins: None UCLA - Losses: UConn, Ok.St. Best Wins: #6 Baylor, Kansas St. ASU - Losses: Miss.St, Green Bay (now #21), FSU. Best Wins: None. Stan - Losses: OhSt, OhSt, Baylor, UConn. Best Wins: None OSU - Losses: ND, Duke. Best Wins: None.
Honestly, only UCLA and UO have anything close to a marquis win. But the only bad loss is OkSt over UCLA. Just based on the record book, I don't think any team has separated itself from the others, but you would have to give a slight edge to UO and UCLA for having actually beaten ranked teams.

bennyskid - thanks for compiling the W/L info into a reader friendly format. The info is a bit sobering. I thought the PAC was going to be awesome this year, but, thus far it certainly hasn't demonstrated it.

There's a difference between awesome now and awesome come March - it's going to be a conference battle to remember, and those that rise to the top are going to have to be reckoned with come tourney time, and that I believe will definitely include the Beavs!

The PAC 12 race will be brutal. What encourages me is that even with the losses of several significant players over the past couple of years, the Beavs are just as capable as anyone else in the conference of winning it. SR keeps recruiting well, he finds great fits and coaches them up. Given what he has established, I don’t care how the ducks pimp themselves to draw talent, how UCLA attracts athletes or Stanford maintains their long-standing quality. I love seeing the conference deep and strong, and believing we’ll reload and be smack in the middle of it year in and year out. This conference should perennially challenge to have elite 8 and Final 4 teams among us, and 6 or 7 legit threats in the tourney. That is exciting. As long as we’re on the guest list for these elite parties, I don’t care who else gets invitations.
