portlandtribune.com/pt/12-sports/381035-268529-oregon-state-banks-on-prep-qbs-dukart-petrasBoth will sign with OSU on 12/20. Petra’s will enroll early CJS recruited Petra’s while he was OC at UW, which is cool. Shows that CJS values his potential. Reading the tea leaves, I’m assuming Dukart redshirts. He is pretty light at 180 pounds. His coach, Coury notes he needs to add some strength. He had good stats considering he sat out the second half of 6 games this year.

Interesting that Dukart plans to pursue football first and baseball 2nd. Our own Baseba1111 seems to have a strong opinion that he's doing it wrong.

The tape and stats look good on Petras, and Jake has major zip on the ball and is a really nice athlete.

Not "wrong" just his focus should be on his best sport. If Luton stays, Petras picks up the system, Willard sticks around, plus a potential grad transfer... Dukart will be at least 4th or 5th on the QB chart. He'll RS regardless and should use the Fall getting BFS... and playing Fall Ball. JS will also be then recruiting and prob bringing in two QBs the following class. Jake is a good athlete, very good baseball player playing QB. He's 3 years at least from seeing the field as a QB... if at all (assuming JS can recruit similar QBs to Petras he'd prob not). Simply saying exactly what I said about Poyer... in reverse.

He's young, if football doesn't work out the way he wants, baseball will be there on a delayed basis.

You know this part bothers me:
Petras will graduate from Marin Catholic early and enroll at OSU for winter term, allowing him to practice during spring ball.
"It's a great opportunity, especially at the quarterback position," Petras says. "It's important to get a jump start on learning the process. It's also bittersweet. There are a lot of great friends at home I'm going to miss. But it's a business decision, the best decision for my future."
Don't get in a hurry to get on with life. Enjoy the moment. Enjoy Spring at your High School with your buddies. Think Mason Moran wishes he had his spring back?

According to Twitter Petras has not made his final decision on where to sign on the 20th. Eggers will probably end up right, another guy interviewed Petras recently and found he is working on the final decision. This reporter was confused by the Eggers article so he contacted Petras again and he still stated that the final decision is still up in the air. I cannot provide links, sorry. I certainly hope he comes our way.

Especially at the QB position. You'll just be that much further ahead - both in your sport and your education. No, I don't think Mason Moran regrets any such thing. Well Mason might regret something... but, not enrolling early.

You can look up Blair Sanderson on twitter @blairrivals and see what you think.

Not in position to link as I alluded to. You can look up Blair Sanderson on twitter @blairrivals and see what you think. Means nothing. Wishful thinking by Iowa that they could still be in the hunt. I am glad you are confident about this. I am actually pretty confident, also. Just thought the information was interesting. Eggers and Blair Sanderson have conflicting quotes. One of them will be wrong. I would tend to think it is Eggers as Sanderson says he followed up on Eggers information. Regardless of whether Petras is still making a final decision or not I would bet we get him.

Wish you were right. Well, there is still time for him to change, right .
