My take exactly. But Stevie would be a great option as a sixth man. Let Hollins start and set the tone with defense then Stevie comes in and has the green light and break the zone. Beavs have a thin bench now. As soon as Eubanks, Tink or Stevie goes out, the leads seem to evaporate. It would be nice to bring some scoring firepower off the bench for the conference tilts. But yeah i don't expect that to happen with Daddy Ball. So for a team that has turnover issues, you are suggesting that we only start one guard that's a true freshman? I don't get where the Stevie bashing is coming from. I know someone reported some hearsay that he was getting favorable treatment, but I don't see it. He has played much better the past few games, improved his defense, and he is starting to hit 3's. He is also currently a better ball handler than Ethan. If you are going to bring Stevie or Ethan off the bench, you would have to start Stacy. The problem with that is then you have 2 starters that are limited offensively (Berger & Stacy). I like starting Berger because he does not make a lot of mistakes and he plays good team basketball. He's just is not much of a scorer. Thats a good point. Stevie is anything but a point guard but he is at least a capable and experienced ball handler. But how else to add some scoring punch to the second shift? Maybe Reichle needs to be a designated sniper but i just havent seen him show that skill yet.

There is no way the Beavs are at a point where they can bring their 2nd leading scorer off the bench. Stevie, Drew and Tres have to average 28-32 minutes a game and it looks like it will be more like 30-35. To me more important than having offense off the bench is having energy and defense off the bench. Except for severe foul trouble or a blowout, at least 3 of our top 4 will be on the floor at the same time for every game except for maybe a few minutes. I'd like to see the big 3 get their minutes down to that 28-32 minute range. At the 5 -- Eubanks 30 minutes and Big 10, at the 3 and 4 -- Tres 32, Hollins 20, Berger 17, and at the 1 and 3 -- Stevie 30, Ethan 25, Manuel 10, Reichle 10, and Stacy 5. Hopefully as the year goes on Manuel and Reichle can earn more minutes, but right now it is hard to see them getting more than 10 (and on some nights not even that). Then there is Kone. If he can get to the point where he is deserving of 10-12 minutes then we'll be looking good.
