There are 349 women's D1 basketball teams in this country. The Beavs have established themselves as perhaps the best all-around shooting team in the nation in the '17-'18 season. We will see how the team's shooting accuracy through the first eight games translates throughout the PAC-12 regular season when the opponent's level of play elevates. However, I am beginning to think that this year's squad has a chance to doing some special things this season if it continues to improve and remains committed to making that extra pass to get a teammate a better shot. www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-women/d1/current/team/114www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-women/d1/current/team/118

We'll see how that holds up against the much better defenses they will face in the Pac-12, but they certainly are demonstrating a lot of weapons - another great season is unfolding.

The team is starting to look like many on this board anticipated back in October. The GOOD: (1) Very good team speed, (2) exceptional perimeter shooting, (3) excellent half court passing game, and (4) strong (not great) overall team defence, including help defence.
The NOT GOOD: (1) average to weak power forwards (2) below average offensive rebounding, (3) Lack of team physicality, thickness, and beef...
The stage is set for some great games this season. Some very good teams are going to leave Gill unhappy. I would not want to coach against this team because so many different players can score, and because they have a determined team mentality. They work very well together. No one seems lost or out of sync. They are organized and they are disciplined. If you don't know what that means watch film of the Men's games this season. They are not organized and they do not demonstrate team discipline.
In October many of us thought the Beavs could be a top 3 team in the PAC this season. Now that December is here it looks like more and more of us believe the Beavs are definitely a Top 3 team....When Jan. 2 rolls around and the Beavs are looking at only 2 losses on the season, getting ready for their crucial LA swing, things will start getting intense, really intense. This is fun !!
GO BEAVS

My takeaways from the San Jose game.
Both Taya and KtMc started off shooting mid-range and having great success. And then they stopped. I hope that's coach not wanting others to see what he's working on, because I think that's were they could hammer the conference. if they can open up the inside and outside with good mid-range scoring then I think OSU is the team to beat.
Taya was making some good rebounding moves. Some great blocking out as well as aggressiveness for the ball.
Grymek did a great job working on keeping herself in line with the oncoming players so that she could block shots. If she keeps improving like that she will be a terror in there.
It's not Maddie's fault if she's standing wide open under the basket and they don't pass to her.
Kat's an awesome shooter, if she would just have a little more patience for a better shot she would be a scoring machine.
The Kat/Kalmer duo switching off is quite the headache for opposing teams. No rest for them!
I keep seeing peeps talking about next year. I think peeps will be crying for Gulich. Don't appreciate what you have until it's gone. Offense, defense, she's great. Enjoy her while she's here.
The Beav's don't have physicality? You should discuss this with Mik. I think she'd change your mind quickly.
Aleah keeps improving but it's still a work in progress. 4-5 games I think coach is going to have a rough time figuring out why she shouldn't get way more playing time. But then what to do with the rest of the line up? Great for us, heartburn for him.
Jan, the songbird who likes to play hard nosed defense. Hard to get my brain wrapped around that.
My thoughts while I'm avoiding getting things done.
