If 4344 was tickets sold 1500 chose not attend.......maybe 2800 in attendance and that may be stretching it a bit.
Hollins = junkyard dog.......fits him, plays with a bunch of energy

This is still a young team. There is plenty of room for improvement. It's good to see some cohesive play starting to emerge, even if it's inconsistent and against lesser competition. I'll take it. If they continue to improve, there is definitely the talent there to be competitive in the conference.
This season is basically a reset, with lots of new faces to figure out. Even our returning players are restarting things after injuries. The expectations around this team could be really different by the end of the season.

I thought the attendance was 2000 to 2500.
This team is better now than they were two weeks ago. Both Hollins and Berger add some things that the team needs. I think the best plan forward is for Thompson jr to get the majority of the minutes at point with Stacy getting some. I thought there was more talking and communication on defense than there has been. But for perspective, KenPom has ArkansasPineBluff as #351 for offense. Any guesses on how many D-1 teams?
The Beavers are not there yet, but I see the potential of 9-9 in conference.

At least they are beating teams they should, albeit #300 and below. Lately there have been no 45+ 2nd halves given up and numerous 3+ min stretches without FGs. As stated earlier... no freaking reason to have shortened the rotation earlier this year. This team didn't have a dominant core group. The only way they see 17 wins and any post season is depth... guys like Hollins getting PT and experience before Pac12 play. I have no idea if this was the case -- and in retrospect it certainly didn't work out -- but I wonder if WT didn't shorten the rotation early in the hopes of getting some wins early to put last year's debacle behind and to hopefully get some quality nonconference wins in that tourney that might help get them into post-season play. He knew he had this current 4-game stretch coming up where he could get Hollins and Reichle developmental minutes. I think he felt he needed to balance developing his bench with getting victories. An extended losing streak early this year after last year's 5-27 season could have killed moral -- both the teams and the fans. As to the UAPB game, it was nice to see a blow out even if it took awhile. Though even when the game was tight, I never got the feeling that the game was in jeopardy. It was definitely nice to see Hollins get some strong minutes. I thought overall everyone played well except for the defense in the first half. WT should make the whole team watch and listen to the broadcast to hear Kevin O'Neill's commentary. I'm sure he wasn't saying anything different than WT and coaches have been saying, but maybe it would resonate more. Glad to see Kone back and I really liked the way Berger played. Tuesday's game could be tougher than expected early in year just looking at the schedule. Jacksonville St.'s only two losses are on the road against Buffalo (6-3) and Miss. St. (8-0) by a combined 8 points.

Jacksonville State is a quality team. As stated above their only 2 losses are by a combined 8 points, and they were projected to finish 2nd I believe in their conference before the season. This game may not seem too attractive at first glance, but I think we get a good look into how much this team has improved over the last couple of weeks tomorrow. It should be fun, hopefully there's a decent crowd to get behind the team and help push them to a win.

I also prefer the big second half and foot on throat effort these past few games - give the coaches and team credit for making adjustments, and the new kids on the block are feeding on their chances and pushing the older guys to play up to their effort, not down to the level of their opponents.
Wonderful to see Kone out there too. GO BEAVS!

They've got six guys who average over eight points a game and those six are all juniors and seniors (i.e., a veteran team) who won their conference tournament last year and played Louisville fairly tough in the first round of the NCAA's last year. OSU cannot afford to take them (or anyone else) lightly and will need two solid halves to win this game.

This is still a young team. Not buying the "young team" excuse. We are heavy in upperclassmen recruited by WT. It will be very difficult to have a more experienced team on the floor in the years ahead, unless our recruiting classes suck and frosh and sophs can't break the lineup.

I would rather think of it as a team short on court time together. After last year's injury clusterfrick, we are still not quite in synch (and a pure point guard would help too). But there has been some solid improvement in the past two weeks, and I believe that they will continue to improve their timing and confidence.

I see slight improvement as well, but our Pac-12 schedule has us away against Cal and Stanford. WSU at home looks to be the only lock in conference. I don't see us getting out of the bottom third of the league or getting close to .500 this year. That is disappointing with a starting five dominated by upperclassmen. I hope we break 12 wins but it is hard to see where they would come from.

I hope we break 12 wins but it is hard to see where they would come from. Cal and Stanford are not very good. I would be disappointed if we were unable to at the very least get one down there and would hope we would get both. I'm not sold on either Washington school either, and while I didn't see Washington's win against Kansas, I watched their game against Virginia tech earlier this year and they looked awful. Bad passing, ill-timed turnovers, missed assignments all over the place, etc. I don't think Colorado or Utah have done much else either to make me think they're gonna come in here and hand us two losses right away. It could just be my orange colored glasses, but this team was competitive with a lot of teams last year, they just couldn't close games out due to fatigue and lack of depth. I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow night and I think a positive result will be a very good sign for the rest of the season.
