I came across the Tweet below today. Regardless of the squad's competition to date through the first seven games, this stat is what you want to see on the offensive end. It is reflective of good ball movement, unselfishness team play, and the ability to finish from both inside and outside the arc. Anytime you rank ahead of UConn and Baylor in an offensive efficiency category, you are doing something right. An effective field goal percentage factors in a team's accuracy from three-point range (worth 1.5 times a regular field goal's value) and accuracy from inside the three-point arc. For example, a team that hit 100% of its shots and took all of its field goal attempts from beyond the arc would have an effective field goal percentage of 150% (1.5 times 100%). herhoopstats.com/leaderboard/team/efg_pct/2018

I love stats! Especially ones like this.
Now we need to have the defense replicate this.

First time I have heard of "effective fg %" .....A sensible concept as the 3 point shot must be incorporated someway into FG efficiency.... I appreciate your digging out relevant stat sites -- it really adds to everyone's knowledge the game.....
Shifting gears: Tomorrow's game looks like the Beavs face another weak opponent. So it will be interesting to see how they keep focus, run their offensive sets, and add intensity to their defensive pressure. From a personnel perspective it will be interesting to me to see if Maddie W. shows signs increased speed, and increased aggressiveness on the boards. I am still of the opinion that her improvement is essential to the Beavs attaining a top 3 finish in the Pac this year....Thus far she has not passed the eyeball test, but if any player responds to the Ruech Regimen it needs to be her.

I agree. That is a critical piece. Players like Brown and Orum worked their way off the bench to become contributors. One of the three, between Washington, Thropay, and Corosdale will hopefully separate as the starter, and fill the void.

steinlager - - just a minor point to add here: Comparing Maddie with Brown & Orum is really tough. Brown & Orum tipped in at 6'3" & 6'4" with impressive basketball weight to go with it..Either one of them could bounce Maddie out of the paint as a matter of routine - -just as they did to most PAC players Maddie's size last season...... Maddie, like Taylor, is undersized for her position. This, in my view, is a critical issue. Maddie needs to bring sizzle to her game if she is going to make an impact on the starting 5. Now, if she were 6'4" with volume Coach would be a happy camper (so would I).
