So, the “national search for a big name coach” ended here? Very glad there is no big name hire. They suck (I just felt like saying that)

They suck (I just felt like saying that) Ya... career HC record of like 27-47... but good recruiter, OL coach... but, weird hire. Same type of situation as Willie... born and bred FL guy. Oregon job, little bit of success gives him a resume boost. I guess ucks are now a "stepping stone" job.

Much rather have him than some of the alternatives.
It's seldom good when you let the players pick their coach. And Leavitt, the guy who really made the difference down there, is leaving.

Quite the spin piece by the uo PR machine, errr, the little o. “One of the country’s best recruiters”. What exactly does that mean? Great salesman? Lying bastage? Lots of cash and bling to spread around? I guess that would be a good fit at hole.

A hail Mary attempt to save their recruiting class. He may do well or he may flop. Hard to say based on his FIU record. He might be a better coordinator than head coach. What's his dream school if he does well?

Really short-sighted IMHO. Too much focus on this years recruiting class and not enough on finding a long-term coach that really wants to be their. He will pull a "willy" on them the first chance he gets. I still would have hired Wilcox if I were in there shoes.

I believe the heading should have been "SDTR goes out-house"

What a joke. Taggart really gave them the bone. Sumlin told them, "No thanks." They're flailing. Not a good hire. Couldn't have happened to a better bunch. Great recruiter? I see no proof of that. Alabama recruits itself. Taggart was the magic driving this year's class. His head coaching record is horrible.

What happened to the rule that said the job had to stay open for 6 days?

I believe the heading should have been "SDTR goes out-house" Not one for the anti-Duck thing, but that is funny. I love play on words, subtlety, and humor that reverses things. One of my faves..."Why do we drive on parkways, and park on driveways".
